DEATH ON THE NILE (1978) dir. John Guillermin
The villain // The real villain
Not only did that sewer rat steal her best friend's boyfriend, but she also destroyed some of her neighbors' houses because they "made her house look ugly," was racist, and made her maid's fiancè leave her so her maid could continue working for her.
And before anyone tells me that Jackie and Simon orchestrated the whole thing, I know that, but if Linnet were a true friend, she would never have dared to flirt with her best friend's boyfriend. It's a matter of respect and loyalty. It takes two people to do things. The plan would not have worked if Linnet were a decent person. The reason the plan worked is because Jackie knew exactly what kind of person Linnet was.
The Sound Of You, Simon Doyle
Sometimes silence is louder.
Sixteen-year-old Owen Kelly doesn't believe in miracles - not after losing the one person who truly saw him. Caught in a storm of grief and emotional static, he retreats into his sketchbook, trying to make sense of a world that suddenly feels out of tune.
But an accidental meeting with a boy who doesn't speak changes everything. When Korean-Irish Jun-ho Lee crashes into his life, Owen's world shifts. Quiet, observant, and Deaf, Jun communicates through gestures and glances, drawing Owen into a new kind of conversation.
As they navigate school, family, and their own tangled lives, Owen is forced to confront the silence inside him. But when the outside world closes in, Owen and Jun must fight not just to stay together, but to be heard in a world that never listens.
The Sound of You is a tender, slow-burn queer romance about finding your voice when the world goes quiet. Perfect for fans of Heartstopper, I'll Give You the Sun, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

JJ Feild - Agatha Christie's Poirot: Death on the Nile (2004)
So I just started Death On The Nile, and I have noticed something. It's also something I have picked up in Christie's other books.
So Simon was engaged to Jackie and then dumped her quickly and married her insanely rich friend Linnet.
Most of the comments are about how vile and backstabbing Linnet is to steal Simon away from Jackie. Most of the blame for what happened is thrown at her.
But Simon doesn't get attacked as much and slides by mostly undamaged.
Now I know how Christie's husband cheated on her and left her for another woman. So I understand her bitterness and contempt for the other women in stories.
You would think Simon, the man who abandoned and betrayed Jackie for Linnet's millions, would get a lot more of the blame. Yet he sails through.
And I will admit, it does vex me.
Having two women fighting over a man who isn't worthy of either woman. Throwing hatred at each other and just excusing his behavior.
