Catching Up | Simone and Marius
News of Karadasâ assassination had traveled fast, as had news of just who had been responsible for the old man finally getting to meet the gods -- celebrations had already started by the time Orinda, the pup, and Simone returned. Orinda of course was staying far away from anywhere that might get her to actually drink something a bit more heavy-hitting than water even now that the celebrations were starting to die down, and Orractous was doing-- well, something in any case. That was all nice and well, too, and Marius was going to have to actually properly congratulate them one of these days, but before any of that he was going to have to find Simone.
Which, funnily enough, had proven to be a whole lot more difficult than Marius had thought it would be. Hadnât seen her around any of her usual haunts at all, and yeah -- slightly worrying, that. It wasnât everyday you killed a king, after all, and with everything else thatâd been going on for her these last few months . . . not that he knew anything concrete, but it also wasnât all that difficult to draw his own conclusions. Either way Simone could probably use some friendly company , and while Marius fully acknowledged that there were most likely better people for that particular job, he did have a couple of bottles of her favorite brew, courtesy of a real nice bartender. That would count for something, he figured.
Night had already fallen by the time he made his way over to Simoneâs quarters, but there was no better time to actually catch her -- heâd confirmed with Lena that she was actually in, though, just to be in safe. Marius knocked on the door, waited for all of two seconds just so that he could say he hadnât barged in immediately-- and then pushed the door open and barged in. âBefore you go rooting through my head, Iâm here because you were dearly missed back at the bar. So I brought the bar to you,â Marius announced, clinking the bottles of beer in his hands against one another. âYou up for some company, Simone?â
