The Sims 4: Get Together
Who would like me to start another Let's Play alongside Eden (with Stella Caelum-Flos)? Send me suggestions, like household ideas, lot ideas, or just encouragement! Thanks guys!
I just posted the lot for The Boarding School challenge under the tag '#simorylane' and '#boardingschoolchallenge' on the Gallery. The lot doesn't have a dining hall, but rather dorm dining areas.
Boarding School Challenge
The idea of this challenge is to have something like a boarding school, but have it be more challenging than just throwing a bunch of teenage sims onto a lot and saying “done”.
Getting Started
The Rules - Lot
One Creativity room with enough stations for all students. This includes: easels, crafting tables, activity tables (if your school is for children), and other creative skill building items. You must choose one item, only. For example: if you have six students, you cannot have three easels and three crafting tables. There must also be a place for the teacher, whether it be a desk or activity station. This could also be used as a music room.
One Athletics room with enough equipment for everyone. Ideally, this room would have at least two of every fitness items to allow a variety for the sims. You may also include a pool, preferably indoors, so that sims may also exercise by swimming laps.
One English room. This room must have a station for each sim, as well as a computer so they may practice writing and a bookself(ves) so they may read. Reading skill books is not allowed.
One Science room. This room will pertain to the Logic skill. Therefore, it may have anything from chemistry tables, telescopes, chess tables, microscopes, etc.
One Computer Lab with a desk a computer for each sim, and in this room you will only practice typing and/or programming.
One or two Elective rooms. This can include any skill not covered, or could even be a class for doing homework or a free period.
Separate male and female dorms complete with either shared or single bedrooms, one or two community bathrooms, a kitchenette, and a living space. These dorms must be entirely the same with standard issue everything and minimal decoration.
A Dining Hall with plenty of seating for the possibility of a party, as well as a kitchen that is closed off from the students.
An Outdoors area, which does not have to be very big, complete with an area to sit and some greenery.
A front desk/office, leading to the Headmaster’s office. This area could also have a nurses ward for those who get sick and a disciplinary room for those who have detention.
Housing for the Headmaster, and other staff if you have it, with the same room requirements as the dorms.
The Rules - The Sims
All sims must have two of each outfit, one as the school’s required uniforms and the other as the weekend “free time” outifts.
School uniforms must be appropriate (obviously no crop tops or short shorts, because you know most schools don’t allow that.
School uniforms must be school colours. For example, females wear a white button down or collared shirt (jacket optional) with red plaid skirt. Males wear either a red shirt and beige trousers, or a white shirt with a red jacket and beige trousers. Failure to follow the dress code (being whatever you choose) will result in a detention
Staff must also follow a dress code.
Each student is allotted $1,000 to do as they please with.
You can make rules for hair colour or accessories, but I don’t find it necessary.
All students must be the same age: Child or Teen.
Gameplay
Classes & Daily Life
Students will follow the class schedule Monday thru Friday, and will have Saturday and Sunday off.
Excused absences include sickness, holidays, and grief.
Students may only miss a maximum of 6 days, and each unexcused day will result in a detention. If students miss more than 3 unexcused days, they will be asked to leave the school or pay a $100 fine, at which point you may bring in a new student if the previous student cannot pay the fine.
The fine is a one-time offer, and if the said student comes into trouble again they will be forced to leave.
This does not apply if you have you sims on the Short Lifespan, and your sims can then only miss 2 days and will be out if they miss more.
If you have your sims on the Long Lifespan, they can miss three times the amount (18 days) with a maximum of 9 unexcused days; they may also pay the fine twice before removal.
Students have a before-mentioned default fund of $1,000 per student. With it they may purchase new furniture for their rooms and decorate their rooms. Students may build/paint in their free time to earn money, but cannot use what they create in class for money (what is created in class may be either displayed, put in inventory, sold to add to the school’s budget, or deleted). With this, I suggest you record each student’s purchases, fines, paychecks, etc. (see below for ways to earn money)
The School has a default budget of $100,000, not including the students accounts nor the cost to build the school (consider the construction covered, because it’ll be costly, so it’s basically free). The School can apply for extra funding if funds run low. (funding options will be listed below)
Sick students must stay in the Nurses ward (or dorm if you don’t have a Nurses Ward).
If late to class, students will have a tardy. Three tardies earn a detention. If the student has missed more than half of the class, it’s a detention. The student will also earn a detention for every hour of school they miss.
Detention means that students must sit in a room without any fun activities from 8am to 12pm or 4pm to 8pm (those are the two detention schedules, students with two detentions must attend both) with a teacher or the Headmaster present. Students are allowed to go one at a time to the bathroom, but are not allowed to leave the room for any other reasons. That includes work, which will have to be missed if it interrupts the Detention. Students who miss three detentions will be faced with either expulsion or pay a fine in order to stay.
Funding cannot be applied for until after the first bill set has been paid, so I suggest you’re wise with the money. Funding can only be applied for once each bill period.
Classes must be 45mins to 1hr long; the Schedule below has been made for 1hr long. The modded schedule is for Simmers who have a mod disabling school.
Students will be split in which classes they have, meaning half in Group A and half in Group B.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Group A & B go to their classes listed below.
Tuesday and Thursday, the Groups will go to the other class. For example: Group A’s have Science first period on Monday, but have Creative first period on Tuesday.
On Weekends, meals must be served: Breakfast 7am to 9am, Lunch 11am to 1pm, and Dinner 7pm to 9pm.
Students must be in their dorms by 10:30pm (11:30pm if modded), or they will receive a detention.
Ways to Earn Money
Students may get either the Babysitter or Manual Labour job, and their pay goes directly into their account.
Students may Fish, Paint, Build, or Garden outside of class and keep the money from what they sell.
Students may repair broken objects on the school grounds for $100 per item. (this is also a good idea to save the school’s budget from falling fast)
Students may receive $10 for every day they have an A.
Students may receive $300 for every skill they master.
Students may help in the kitchen for $50, but can only help once a meal period an only if it does not interfere with class, detention, or a job.
Funding Options
$10,000 - One fourth of the student body must have A’s and B’s.

If you have any questions, or if I left out anything, please feel free to ask/let me know!
Use the tag #simorylane if you do this challenge so I can see it!
So I’m going to
start posting about my current family. The focus will be on the two teenagers, so when they age up I’ll move the story on with them. Until then: I’ll Introduce everyone and then start posting!
Taking Sim Requests!
Send me a word, zodiac sign, colour, object, photo, song, season, or even name and I've make a Sim based on it! Any CC I use will be linked, or if you'd like I won't use any! Be sure to include what game packs you have!
Should I start a Legacy Challenge?
I’m thinking about posting my current household tonight.
