Family Function

It was a late Sunday evening, a party for the entire family was winding down. Some guests were leaving, some were staying in guest rooms, some were sleeping on the couch. One of the few people who would be sleeping in their own bed was the owner of the house. Michael, his daughter had came to the gathering with her husband to wish Michael and his wife  another happy year together. Michael had a bit too much to drink as he usually did at any social function, he could barely make it to his room, not even bothering to close the door as he collapsed on the bed, face down and in complete view for anyone walking through the hallway.

Emily's Movie Night.

It was a long dark night out. Most of the house was in pitch black except for the living room which had its only source of light being the television as Matt sat on the couch watching the same horror movie. There was a bit of a snowstorm going on outside, he had grabbed a blanket to help keep warm during the blizzard. His mother was somewhere around, roaming the house in the middle of the night. She was a bit distant in his mind but she did come to mind when he was thinking of who he could have for company at the moment.
