People are often curious to know how I got into henna. I always had a fascination with the art form, but never dared to try it for myself. I would spend hours doodling on the sides of my notes, but never had the courage to pick up a cone. That is, until @saychowdhury literally forced a cone into my hand. We were at a school event about 10 years ago where a club had a henna booth set up. The artist had bailed and the club's board members were desperately looking for someone to fill in. "Mayisha does henna," Sayeeda calmly stated as she placed a cone in my hand. There was literally no time to protest as students started to line up. Sayeeda placed a cone in my hand for the first time 10 years ago and I've never let one leave my hand since. It's such an honor to call her a friend and see all the wonderful things she not only accomplishes but also pushes other people to accomplish.
