All she had wanted was a simple ride, to clear her head. Away from the hustle and bustle of palace life. She wanted only to be Gwen, at least for a day. Her long curls bounced in time with the clicking of the hooves of her horse. It was out of the corner of her eye that she noticed a figure. She dismounted the animal, hands still on the reigns as she tried to get a better look at whoever was there.
"Hello? Is someone there?"
simpleservantgirl started following you
After the morning council, Gwen decided to return to her chambers for a while. She still had to get used to these kind of meetings and the disdainful glances some of the old men threw at her. They still weren't happy for not having a noble-born queen. She wanted them to understand that being a good queen wasn't depending on that thing; however, sometimes she found herself believing them. That she wouldn't be a good queen.
This was a moment like that. As they were talking about collecting taxes, she felt like she couldn't say anything relevant to the case. And she could tell that the council members felt the same. Now Gwen needed a few moments to pull herself together. Entering her chambers, she leaned against the door and let out a deep sigh. Looking around the room, she felt like she didn't belong here and the dress she was wearing started to itch, making her want to rip it off herself, since she shouldn't wear a gown like this. It was for a queen, and right now she was everything but that. Tears stung her eyes and she found herself hard to breathe.
That was when she heard a noise towards the window and she realised she wasn't alone. She straightened herself and headed to the windows, finding a servant girl there. "Hello," she greeted her with a faint smile.
