Something I find interesting in spirit work circles is the preference for 'natural' spirits and the denial of 'unnatural' ones. I have seen people deny that cars could have spirits due to being steel and consuming gas, but then venerate the spirit of a house that was built with gas pipes, steel tanks, gas ovens, etc.
I don't think it's hypocritical and I can see why people would deny it, but it is interesting to almost see a very "green" animism compared to a more historical blend of both nature and manmade or man-influenced objects.
My car is a forty year old 300zx and she's taught me more about animism than plants ever could--she is certainly alive and calms I when I drive. I've wondered if I could drive with her spirit into the wild hunt, before. Perhaps there is something to be learned. I know many of us are sick of AI and machinery and green animism is an escape from it we very much so need.
