     All was quiet among the greenery. There were birds singing and  crickets chirping, but not a single sound of the undead. A small blonde traversed through the trees, humming softly as she went. She'd be separated from her family, from Daryl, and from everything she knew.

     She was confident that she would come across them at some point. Thanks to Daryl, she'd learned to track. With that skill, she'd begun to track her group. Their prints were faint, but she knew they were there. The young girl continued to hum, even vocalizing a bit of the song. However, she stopped abruptly, hearing a twig snap nearby. Silence followed. Before, she would have considered it a fluke, but now she knew better than to brush that kind of thing off.

     "--Someone there?"

     Beth called softly. If it was a walker it would attract their attention. If it were a living person, it would let them know she wasn't a threat.

     "--I know someone's there. Please come out."

     She called again. She wouldn't be able to fight anyone with her  bum ankle. The calmer and less threatening approach was necessary at this point if she wanted to protect herself. Unless they wanted to harm her. In which she still had her knife and her, very limited, supply of 9mm ammunition.
