Formula 1 driver Geoff Lees (he started 5 races in the late 70's/early 80's). From his overalls, he is pictured at a "Can-Am" sportscar race in 1979 and is wearing a Simpson Model 30 (M30 or Type 30) helmet. This is more of a motorcycle helmet so I'm curious if he used it in F1 races also. Geoff's helmet also has a dark visor which I've read may have been due to an eye injury he received.
I don't remember seeing many Simpson helmets worn by drivers in F1. They are often noted for their aggressive 'sci-fi movie' styling and are, arguably, most associated now with The Stig in Top Gear (especially a white helmet with a dark visor). Ben Collins, in his many appearances as the tame racing driver, used both the Bandit and Diamondback models.
