We ❤️ our photographers. We know you will too. How do you go about capturing the essence of city or town when you are traveling? I think capturing the essence of a place really involves being completely present within that space. Whether that be a city, a restaurant, nature etc., it’s all about observing, using all of your senses and having that experience reflect back in the work. I try to get to know a place not just through visual language, but also through smells, tastes, and sounds. I want someone who sees my work to be immediately transported to that place, to be able to hear the ocean or smell the market street.⠀ This was taken on a street that I called, Meat Street, in Cusco, Peru. This market was constantly bustling with locals, picking up fresh cuts of meat, you could find all sorts of animal parts here, including full cow heads.
