In A Bit Of A Pickle

For all you Sims fans out there, I play Sims 3. I'm going to get to the nub of my problem quickly - I find it really hard to stick with the Sims I'm playing. Maybe it's my perfectionist side, but nothing seems to feel right. I always feel like there's something wrong and I end up starting again because of it. Which brings me onto a similar point - I like creating myself on Sims and trying to reflect my day to day activities. Yet nothing seems to fit right and whatever residence my Sim lives in, nothing seems to feel right. I can't figure out a way to feel the most comfortable with whoever I'm playing, but it bothers me that I keep on doing that. What kind of help could you give someone with a mindset of perfectionism (after all, it isn't a bad thing, I just want to find a better way to deal with this kind of mindset) in a situation like this?
