I got into the Sims after my daughter borrowed the game from a friend and showed me a family she made of my boyfriend and I with his and my kids in it. It looked hilarious. She begged for me to rent Sims Busting Out soon after and I ended up playing it myself ALL night! Soon after, I bought the first Sims 1 base game for her and started begging her for time myself on it. I remember buying her Hot Date for her birthday but by then it was really for me as I was obsessive on the game by then. I remember my first family : The Pickles. I remember my first sim death ..from the firework that my self sim set off in the park! Horrible!
I remember the fascination with the tv and the sound of the horror movie. I remember the feeling of excitement I had with the loading and buy mode music! I remember when I discovered custom content! OMG!!! Around the Sims, Inge Jones : Simlogical, Oh and Secret society of woobsha! And the free stuff from Sim Slice! Especially the cycle of life chickens! I remember the LONG loading times waiting to take my Sims on a date downtown.
I remember downloading a mod that allowed a bunch of people on a lot then having a party at the park. I'd forgotten to add a fire alarm so when a fire broke out the whole lot was burned out and about 20 sims in the game were killed! It was devastating! I remember the total excitement of getting the Sims Complete Collection!
I was doubtful about leaving all my old sims behind for the Sims 2 game. It didnt take long tho before I didnt miss them anymore because Sims 2 was THE BEST! It was amazing how the tv worked and the reflections in the mirror. The sims themselves so much bigger and better! In this game I became quite enamored with the families..especially the Brokes and I loved The Pleasants so much too! Also Don Lothario wrecking marriages. I played Sims 2 for several years as I only had the base game with Generations for Sims 3 a short time. Was glad I got to try it out but was happy to get back to my Sims 2 also. Some of my favorite scenarios were Band Sims, playing a scenario which involved 8 sims in the REAL WORLD , Farmer wants a wife challenge, Having grandparents give gifts, Going on vacation (especially the beach), raising toddlers, the whole SEASONS pack and all that it entailed.
Hard to leave my full Sims 2 life for the bare base game of Sims 4. Still I was very intrigued by it! Loved the emotions, the gallery, the build mode, the super fast load , and how beautiful the nature in the game is. Was very happy with Outdoor Retreat!
I hope to continue to make new memories with this game and would love to see the franchise expand on family game play and I'm on the "bring back toddlers" bandwagon!! Also Tweens would be a great idea. I want to see a Seasons pack and cant wait for a beach vacation!
