Night On The Town

Being new to the area he asked what they did for fun. There were few lots nearby, but they had at least one night club, The Blue Velvet, that was recently renovated by Simlicy. (Download The Blue Velvet Reno by Simlicy on the Gallery)

The four of them went there together and played some foosball while they continued to get to know one another. Summer and Fletcher made one team while Travis and Liberty made up the other.

They played several rounds before Travis and Liberty decided to call it a night. four losses in a row did not help their morale. Summer on the other hand was more than happy to keep hanging out, still excited from winning.

They took their celebrating outside. Joking around, sharing stories and just enjoying each other's company. Fletcher learned a lot about her in that time. She was working as the Head Dishwasher at Make A Dish. Her competitive nature wasn’t exclusive to foosball, as an active sim she really like to push herself. Of course there was the immediately obvious about her, she was a very cheerful sim.

At first glance she was like anyone else, but after getting to know her better Fletcher found himself starting to really like her.

She wasn’t what he had been expecting to look for in a potential partner, but it was the little things about her that made him think about her more romantically that night. Her passion, her extroverted nature and even the way she would try to hide her smile at the small flirts he threw her way.

Summer was charming and he was starting to fall.

The next morning she slipped out before Don woke up. She went to her audition full of hope. After it was over they told her she wouldn’t be used, but that she could always try for a different role. It was like life was trying to balance out, good relationships, bad work life and no home.

She was too upset to tell Don so instead she set up another audition and gave Venessa a quick call to catch up on what happened. After that she got to work on scavenging for anything she could sell, desperate for money.

At some point in the day she made her way to Ward Park. It was renovated by Whyeverr. She sold whatever collectibles she could find in the area before doing some painting. Turns out she likes to paint! It’s also a nice source of money and fame.

Finally feeling a bit better she sat down to just breathe for a moment and watch the ducks. Don called her and told him the news. He was supportive then asked her to meet him at the romance festival, saying she could bring Venessa along if she wanted, but to wear something nice.

It was just another Sunday in Del Sol Valley. The first day of winter when a new save was opened. For the average sim this was nothing special. 

Drew wasn’t the average sim though.

He let out a scream as he loaded into the world. Falling back on to the ground. Drew took a few minutes to register what was going on. Then it all came swiftly back to him. He was a legacy sim, a founding sim.

“Andrew Alexavier Pressley”, he muttered to himself, staring at his hand. “I am a young adult. I’m adventurous, active and romantic.” He closed and opened his hand a few times, fascinated by it. “I want to be a freelance botanist.”

It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. He was a new sim. There was a whole world created for him. A world he wanted to discover. That’s when he looked up at his surroundings and noticed how empty it was.

“You’ve got to be kidding me. No home and no money? What am I supposed to do here?” Frustration set in rather fast after that realization. He needed money and a way to survive.

Clambering to his feet he took out his phone where he then became aware of another thing. The lot he was meant to live on was off the grid. It took him a bit of walking before he got a decent enough signal. He found some job listings and without too much issue joined the gardening career. 

He exhaled a sigh of relief. “Thank the Watcher. At least that’s one problem solved.”

Some time went by after that date and Drew had finally made some more money. He was saving for a one day trip to Tartosa. Of course he wasn’t going alone.

Kala came with him, excited to be there and to see the ocean. They were going to be staying at the Villa Vigna. It was a beautiful house, but they ended up spending more time outside than in. 

It was a beautiful start to a much needed day off.

Shaking off his nervousness he changed into his swimwear, opting to sit on the edge of the pool. He cleared his throat and waved to her once she noticed him.

“Hey, hope I didn’t scare you.” He greeted her as she swam over.

She ignored him a moment, pulling herself up to the ledge. “Not really, no. I knew you were there the whole time.” She shrugged. 

He cleared his throat awkwardly. His lack of sleep was not helping him right now. “Right, right, you probably saw me when you walked in.” He saw her smile awkwardly back at him with a bit of a nod. “I’m sorry, it’s been a day for me. Let me start over, I’m Andrew Pressley. You can call me Drew though. I’m... new to the neighborhood.”

She looked him over a moment. “Well, Drew, I’m Kalamainu’u, but you may call me Kala. It’s a long name, I know. So rough day huh? Been there, having a rough day myself. Unlike you, I’m not actually from around her. I’m not really from anywhere to be honest. I’m a bit of a wanderer. It has it’s ups and downs.”

“You like to travel? I want to, but I’m currently unable to. Where have you been?” The more he spoke to her the stronger the pull he felt towards her. They talked for about an hour, just kicking their feet in the water and getting to know one another.

Eventually they got up and moved their conversation over to a new topic. 

“So, Kala, I’ve really enjoyed talking to you. I’d love to talk some more if that’s okay with you?” Drew gave her his number, eyeing the ring on her finger afterwards. “Of course if it’s gonna cause problems for you and your - fiancé?” He was trying to dance carefully around the topic.

Kala was confused, but then laughed. “Oh, no, I’m single. I wear this just to keep others away. Not exactly useful against tired sims though apparently.” Kala smirked as she sent him her number in return. “Maybe that’s a good thing though.”

After a tense moment he was relieved. Uncomfortable as he was, he was still feeling rather flirty. “Well, kalamainu’u, if that’s the case then I’d love to invite you out sometime soon. Maybe tomorrow night? I promise I’m not always this tired. I can do a lot better after some rest.” He kissed her hands.

“I think I’ll take you up on that offer.” 

With that he set up a date for tomorrow.
