I don’t understand why people built up this cultural understanding of Dark Souls as this super-hard, super-punishing cruel-em-up sort of game. It’s not easy & it can be rude sometimes for sure, but I feel like it’s pretty fair. A lot of the difficulty in 1 stems from either “you are not being patient enough” or “this part is janky and designed weirdly”.
I also don’t understand folks who think the main appeal of the series is the fact that it’s hard. I don’t really get the sort of obsession with playing games that are hard for the specific purpose of doing something hard? I feel like I’m not wording my thoughts on that properly. I like a challenge in games but there needs to be more than “this isn’t easy” to keep me hooked.
The appeal of Dark Souls to me is that you get to hobble together your own 3D beat-em-up character, & also that it’s a slapstick comedy simulator. It’s a Looney Tunes brawler disguised as a dark fantasy RPG & it kind of rules.
hey, i discovered sburbsim yesterday and it's already sucked hours of my time away from me. however, all my characters are trolls but none of them have typing quirks? they all type like dave even though they have a variety of favorite numbers. it only does this when i customize a session fully when i click "read random" they all have different typing styles
I think the replay system has it so they have whatever quirk the player they are erasing would have had...

I found my childhood favorite game SimTunes and made some music from my current favorite podcast! "Arms Outstretched", not perfect but I did it by ear so why would u expect it to be (Sorry for the wacky resolution, I didn't know how to fix it)
