Speaking of transmasc characters, I feel like seahorse dad Ky Kiske would add a unique layer of sadness to Sin and Ky's relationship.

During the first year of Sin's life, Ky tries so hard to cope with everything, but he ends up floundering. He hates himself for how weak he feels — particularly, he hates how much his dysphoria and his postpartum depression affects his personal image. He looks in the mirror, and instead of seeing the heroic man and dedicated father that Dizzy and everyone else sees, he sees a stranger — he sees a mistake of a man. He doesn't deserve to have Dizzy and their son. He didn't deserve the chance to give life to a child as wonderful as his son. He thinks about all of the real heroes — the real men that he fought beside in the crusades, and how happy they'd be with a life like his. Here Ky is, with a beautiful wife and a healthy young son, feeling hopeless and unworthy, while many of his brothers in arms are laid to rest in the ground. Carrying a child was difficult on Ky's being, and even though he loves his son with all of his heart, Ky still can't stop the voices in his head that pick away at him — labelling him damaged and defective as both a man and a father. How can he truly be the father that his son needs if he can't even pass as a real man? He doesn't deserve the love, adoration, and kindness Dizzy washes over him. If Ky can't even bring himself to accept himself, how can he expect the world to accept a family like his?

Ky's depression grows worse when the Conclave begins blackmailing him into becoming their puppet by threatening to expose the hero of Ilyria as a fraud who both betrayed the body that God bestowed upon him and his fellow knights through forsaking his sex, consummating an illegitimate marriage to the Princess of the Gears, and bearing her bastard spawn. Ky feels the hatred in how they speak of his son — he can sense how much resentment they have for his family, and how much hatred they hold for Dizzy and his son — who are both innocent of any crime except daring to have the audacity of being descended from Justice. The weight of the world collapses on Ky's shoulders — as much as he despises the idea of becoming a pathetic mouthpiece and puppet for the Conclave's whims, without someone like him to protect his wife and son, the Conclave will surely put their lives in danger.

Soon after that, Ky and Dizzy are forced to give up their son to Sol. Dizzy is sealed soon thereafter, and Ky is thrust into his new position as King. Ky didn't even get to name his son before the Conclave took him away. He only learns that his baby's taken to calling himself Sin because of how the world treats him like a mistake — like something unforgettably awful. Yet, to Ky, Sin's the best thing that he's ever had the opportunity to create.

Great writing but I’m starting to worry yall need a better creative outlet, and I don’t mean better as in you guys need to do better ! I mean better as in I don’t think this blog is the ideal space for these long pieces of writing.

If someone wants to create a blog where people can submit their long pieces of headcanons/hypotheses I’d love to spread the word !

I‘ll keep posting them if they end up in my askbox of course ! These are really cool to read through ! Just, maybe there are places where they’ll fit in more
