Sooo for Sinbad no bouken how do you think Sinbad would deal with a crush that only seems to listen to Jafar and sometimes zones out when Sinbad suggests something. (Usually something stupid). But they’re just like <3 Sure Jafar we can do that And they give him healthy and unhealthy snacks constantly to cheer him up. It’s cuz Jafar is so “adorable, is the smart one And gets too stressed for a teenager”? (I feel like we’d all do this tbh)
Okay so requests are currently closed but... how can I say no to being nice to Ja'far? So just some small headcanons, one set for Sinbad and some bonus ones with Ja'far's view on the situation because I feel like it!
Sinbad gets horribly frustrated.
He never fails to get his way. Despite his age he is persuasive and can wrap anyone around his finger. So why are you paying more attention to Ja'far than to him?!
He is going to go that extra mile to show off around you, trying to show how strong he is, how brave he is, how smart he is,... but he notices you're not paying attention to a single thing he's doing.
That doesn't mean he's giving up though. He didn't get where he is in life now by giving up and accepting the situation as it is.
Will actually whine when you ignore him. He does not like it. You can shut his ideas down all you like, but don't pretend he's not saying anything!
He'll never admit it, but you ignoring his advances only draws him in more. He's so used to getting his way and to have a fairly easy time getting people to see things his way, so for you to completely ignore him is both frustrating and exciting.
Sinbad will absolutely try to put Ja'far in a bad light. Not in any serious ways like talking about his past, but in small, playful things like saying he has no fashion sense so he always wears his uniform, like his smile is fake, ect.
Never will he actually belittle Ja'far or do something that would hurt him. Ja'far is one of this closest friends after all, and he still cares for him deeply.
And he does agree with you, Ja'far is way too stressed and could use a break.
Ja'far is horribly annoyed by the situation.
It's nice that you're putting so much value into his opinion, but did you really have to be Sinbad's crush?
Sure, Sinbad listens to you, so you agreeing with Ja'far makes sure things get done quickly and efficiently. But the headache that comes afterwards almost isn't worth it.
Sinbad often nags at Ja'far about why you prefer Ja'far over him. Certainly when he's had a little too much to drink. Ja'far often throws some snide remarks at him in the guise of 'advice', like being less of a womanizer, being more responsible, taking things a little more seriously,...
He does appreciate the snacks though.
Ja'far will never admit it, but he knows he's more serious than other kids of his age. He knows he probably should relax a little more. But he also knows that Sinbad lacks the seriousness and diligence needed for certain jobs, so he'll continue to make up for his king's weaknessess.
He will 100% use your favor for him as something to tease Sinbad with when he's being a pain in the ass again.
