So in reference to my tags on Bo in this post. Many fanon works paint Bo as the dangerous, aggressive, toxic Sinclair. And while he's a sick bastard (cause like they all are for murdering people for years lmao) after a bunch of rewatches of House of Wax (2005) I don't know where that interpretation comes from.
I read so many fanfics prior to even watching the movie and so I was full on board with Vinny as the uwu soft twin train. Lester has never appealed to me in any way shape or form, but fanfics generally portray him as the really sweet kinda neglected and forgotten brother.
Through my massive hyper fixation in the movie and doing all those rewatches for ridiculous analysis that no one asked for I observed Lester being pretty lecherous with Carly. Both when at the carrion pit when she was changing her shirt and also while they were in the truck (if memory serves.) I also don't find Les attractive, even ignoring his lack of personal hygiene so like there's maybe some of my bias there. Not caring to read more into him cause of the initial creep factor and that he doesn't get much air time. I do appreciate his carving artistry though!
In Vinny I saw waaaay more sadistic and predatory nature than Bo. Also he's officially the more dangerous Sinclair since Bo couldn't even manage to kill Carly and Nick with a freakin shotgun at close range 😂 smdh
I think I've highlighted in other posts some of these instances but please feel free to send another ask for me to talk about them again! I miss talkin about these boys.
Anywho, outside Bo's outburst at Vinny in the kitchen, he doesn't show that much anger and such. And even then he had a crossbow bolt in his shoulder and had been outwitted by their victims like 3 times at that point. (again he's so bad at his 'job' 😂) Vinny straight up ignores that outburst anyway and Bo immediately starts soothing the situation. Apologizing and trying to reconnect through talkin bout the family legacy.
I'll also say that for almost half the movie Bo is in 'actor' mode. Puttin on the charm to manipulate the group. I was honestly surprised how long he kept it up even when Carly had locked him outta the truck. And while it could be seen as some fucked up sexual and power fantasy thing, after duck taping Carly to the chair he shhhhs her all gentle and keeps his voice soft. Even when gluing her mouth shut.
I also have the hc that Bo is hella susceptible to anyone showing him kindness--usually a trait that people ascribe to Vinny in fanon-- because he was the neglected and abused son. Like fair to say they all are violent (they are murders of many people) but I feel like he's always characterized as this extra broody, mean/grumpy alcoholic, which when I watch the movie he's not really any of that.
So yeah, while I do love the grumpy broody Bo trait, I think he's real touch/attention/love starved and would be hella fuckin soft with someone he loves. I've headcannoned that he doesn't like being that way around his brothers but I think that's fanon too now that I'm typing this all out.
Much of this could be considered conjecture cause they spent way too much time on the college kids when they should've just focused on the brothers and Paige then being the final girl (still bitter) but yep. That's why I think he's a softy. 🥰
when it comes to Vincent and creating the wax figures I totally see it as a power trip thing. Bo may have suggested the idea--as i believe he says in the movie--but vinny latches on immediately.
Vincent hasn't ever really had much control over his life. he had freedom when he was younger, with his parents, since they doted on him so much. probably gave him whatever he wished. a perfect little sheltered bubble. probs from their own guilt after the surgery?? who knows. anywho all that freedom and in some way, control in his life evaporates with their deaths. and he's thrown into a system and society which has piles of evidence showing how unforgiving and harsh they can be. i mean sure his quiet and good mannered nature probs helped in some foster family setting but yeah.
Bo bringing him back to ambrose is coming back to a place where he felt safest. and with that he grows a bit more confident in regaining control over things.
this is especially true with the new method of creating his art. and in that control factor he is the creator. the one with definitive control. he stages them how he wants. dresses them how he wants. picks their new hair color and eye color if he wants. he takes things that arent perfect and makes them perfect by his own hands and will.
and the more i think about this the more i link him to asa in my head 👀 and fanfic is all just wish fulfillment so...it'd be interesting to see these two play off one another. each an artist and creator in their own right. probably both having similar god complexes if I'm being honest. tho asa's is definitely for set than vincent's. i mean bo is there with his emotional and mental abuse keeping vincent in check to some degree. and vincent lets it go because bo his twin. but also because bo is the perfect bait to lead new victims to him for "perfecting" to his liking. it's not a job that would be easy for him to do thanks to his scars and he knows this. and while lester is around I ascribe to the idea that lester isnt super big on killing people like the twins. he'll lead them to the washed out pass but it's the victims' own prerogative if they go on in.

Vincent be gettin his squats in when working on the lower half of those wax figures, and gettin them moved up to the House of Wax and elsewhere. Cause no way he's trustin his brothers to help. Ok maybe Lester. But Bo's whiney hiney would be grumblin and if one lil thing goes wrong like him bumpin into a wall he's too likely to throw a tantrum and yeah Vincent would rather avoid that headache thanks.
Bo doesn't do much to get his big booty squats in so unfortunately he is gonna be keepin his lil pancake booty. 🤷🏽♀️ But like I love me some pancakes just as much as a like some juicy butter buns. 😌

So I’m gonna attempt to build their house house in a floorplan app cause I wanna be extra. It’ll probs take a while. Especially with only free ones available to me I wish.....dang I wonder if someone has done it on SIMS yet?? ---just checked and sadly no floorplans.
If anyone has SIMS available I could do a quick pencil sketch on paper and you could try to create it? It’d be quicker than a floorplan renderer.
As for the layouts of Ambrose. LUCKILY, some other wonderfully blessed souls did a 3-D mockup of the exterior buildings.
And another link with the satellite map of the set before it was demolished (such a shame) --In the bottom video which y’all more seasoned fans may have seen ad nauseum, is a BTS video that has a great 3-D image render of Vincent’s face which I’ll probs use for my discussion post trying to apply real world biology to movie horror aesthetics. :)

ok so some things i will try to analyze later after more thought but
-trudy was an excessive smoker apparently. i mean not only in the intro while in the kitchen. but also in the photo of her with the twins in her lap, like what the heck?? i know it was the 70s? but still!
-which brings me to Bo smoking. like he wastes so many cigarettes in this movie. Even the older ones put out on the church steps seem barely used. (i know probs reading too much into this cause it was probs just cause of the film take schedule but stiiill) I half feel like bo just does it to feel cool or somethin but doesnt actually like them lmao but i wont die on this hill
-someone left a perfectly good piece of toast in the toaster vinny uses as a mirror and I'll be rewatchin again but surely there are actual mirrors around vinny 🙄 and also yall need to stop wastin food 😤
-they need a chore chart cause yikes that house. the dust on that floor beneath the billiards table. like guess bo would have to kill me cause i wouldnt be rollin around under that thing bleck
-vinny takes jonesy on his campsite murder spree. she was probs a super good pup just waitin patiently in the car

-OOOOOOOOH I remember now!! What if Bo's story was a whole heckin lie??? Cause he says Trudy dies when they're younger and they end up in foster homes. specifically homes so obviously separated. BUT if we are to believe the woman in the coffin is Trudy for real, she doesnt look all that young. and i know smoking ages but dang not that much i wouldnt think! and there's no way she'd be in that decent of a condition after 10 or so years it'd take the boys to turn 18 and return to dig up her corpse and encase it. So like what if trudy did die from a tumor but later in life? and the wax museum was her pride and joy but actually the town had been long abandoned before her passing but the boys didn't want to leave?? and so vincent encases her now older body in wax for the setup.
-it could also just not be her but even when carly isnt around i think bo refers to trudy in the church??
