The (admittedly lacklustre) canon "evidence" I have scraped together for autistic Undyne (no c5 spoilers as I haven't played DR):

What it was based on: Papyrus is autistic coded. Alphys is also autistic coded. Undyne has close bonds with both of them and many autistic people find it easier to build rapport with other autistics.

Her aversion to cold and sweet foods could be a sensory issue.

According to Alphys, Undyne makes intense eye contact, which some autistic people do either naturally or as a result of attempting to mask (i.e. overcompensating).

She shows signs of ADHD (such as jumping between topics during discussions) which commonly occurs together with autism.

Many people have probably talked about this, but I was thinking about it, so I’m going to talk about it anyway.

Here’s my idea as to why Gaster is goopy in the void.

As we already know, the amalgamates in the true lab are multiple groups of monsters that got injected with a lot of determination that so they could persist after they should have turned into dust.

It worked at first, but then they started to melt, with different groups of monsters eventually melding together into the different amalgamates.

And the reason that they haven’t turned to dust yet is because of the high amount of determination, along with the fact that they are each made from multiple monsters.

Something similar happened with Undyne.

During the genocide route, she was starting to turn to dust. But her burst of genuine determination caused her to become her undying form.

But, as we know, the determination was eventually too much for her body to handle, causing her body to melt and then finally turn to dust.

As for what this has to do with Gaster, here’s what I think.

I think Gaster is goopy in the void because he had a panicked burst of determination as he was falling, cause he didn’t want to die. He didn’t want to burn away or turn to dust.

But because he ended up in the void, he can’t really die. He can’t melt away and turn to dust like how Undyne did, despite being goopy and kinda melted. Which is why he’s around despite being only one monster.

Just a random for fun drawing of one of my troll ocs that was long ago inspired by and shares a lot of personality similarities with these two characters I think Vastlife would try to flirt with both of them if they were in the same universe too (Oldnight would also approve, his wife can do anything lol)
