It has been a remarkable 50 years as a nation. From a small island nation that had nothing at first rapidly changing to a global player in the financial sector. We're small but very unique in terms of how we(Singaporeans) do things. We say words such as "lah","lor","simi" and so on. We love our food! We care for one another too. Although the "Kampong Spirit" has somewhat disappeared a little lately, it's still encouraging to see stories of people bonding together with their neighbours. Yeah we complain a lot, but that doesn't mean we aren't grateful to be Singaporean. We're just showing our slight displeasure over why the action is as such. We've been together through good times and bad. We couldn't be happier to celebrate Singapore's 50th Birthday with a huge celebration. At the same time, we do hurt a little inside. Lee Kuan Yew, our 1st Prime Minister, died back in April. We wanted him to be alive to celebrate, but to no avail. Regardless, we're proud of what he did for us throughout his life. We remember him in the best ways back in April. Now,we need to keep that spirit moving. So as to (further) achieve Happiness, Prosperity and Progress for Our nation. May She have a great 50th Birthday and here's to 50 more. Happy birthday Singapore!
