I haven't drawn any art of Mallory and the Strays in a while so I decided to draw them at the end of the story.

So one day Mallory and the dogs are performing at a county fair as usual when they get noticed by a talent agent out enjoying the local fair with his wife. He's impressed by her musical talents as well as how well-trained her dogs are and how harmonious their howling is, so he offers to give them all a home and a contract. Of course Mallory agrees, and she not only ends up signing a contract with him but also being adopted by him and his wife.

So now Mallory and her dogs went from hitching rides on trains to riding in tour buses.

So here they are a few years later, and as you can see, Luke is an adult now. He went from a malnourished runt to a healthy,, happy adult.

Sixth of my Christmas gifts that I drew this year, and this one's for @hyzenthlay-rose. It's some fanart of Bingo and Luke, two characters from her original story Singing Strays. Basically, it takes the idea of a singing group of dogs from The Fox And The Hound II and turns it into its own seperate story about a puppy who runs away from his abusive owner and finds a musician girl and her traveling band of stray dogs and gets adopted and taken under their wing. I really wanted to draw some fanart for it because the whole idea sounds really sweet and I'm just a big sucker for the Found Family trope. Hope you like it!

Late night drawing because I rewatched the fox and the hound 2, and I loved that movie when I was younger.

Just, y'know.. except the stereotypical straight couple energy lmao..

A new Singing Strays drawing. Here's Mallory after running away from her abusive home and finding Bingo as a puppy, scared and alone in an alleyway. His mother and siblings were strays that died from malnutrition, and once Bingo tried fending for himself he ran into punks that cut his eye. Due to this he was initially scared of Mallory when he saw her, but she offered him what little bit of food she had and eventually she gained his trust and they formed a bond. Mallory adopts him and he becomes her constant companion, then as Bingo gets older they encounter the other dogs and their found family grows bigger, but Mallory's bond with Bingo remains the strongest since he was the one he found first.

As a side-note, I decided I picture Mallory with Maya Hawke's voice because her folksy music is perfect for Mallory (I also have a massive crush on Maya Hawke but that has nothing to do with it I swear)

So anyone who really knows me knows that I absolutely despise Fox and the Hound 2 for many, many reasons that I'm not gonna get into because we'd be here all day.

However, I do actually think the idea of a traveling band of singing stray dogs sounds like an adorable idea on it's own, so I decided to use it and make it it's own thing instead of a shitty goofy sequel to one of Disney's darkest movies.

So. In this story a golden retriever puppy named Luke runs away from his abusive owner and finds a musician girl named Mallory* and her traveling band of stray dogs and gets adopted and taken under their wing.

Instead of the music being country in this story it's folk music instead. I do like country music but I like folk music more so I changed it (I'm sorry I just really love 60s music).

The pack of dogs:

Bingo: The one-eyed leader who becomes a father figure to Luke

Clyde: A scruffy mongrel who is Bingo's best friend

Bluebelle: A three-legged dog and Bingo's girlfriend

Elodie: A sweet blind long-haired dalmatian

Dusty: Elodie's best friend and "seeing-eye dog"

*Yeah they have a human owner but I didn't draw her here. I will soon though.
