Well folks, it's crazy how fast the Kickstarter Campaign for my worship/protest record has gone. THERE ARE ONLY 24 HOURS LEFT TO PREORDER & PLEDGE TOWARDS THE MAKING OF "SONGS OF SORROW / SONGS OF HOPE"! With one day left I'm currently $773 shy of hitting my stretch goal of $10K which, if I hit it, will allow me to record a couple more songs as well as help make the whole recording process much less stressful. So if you haven't pre-ordered the record or pledged to the campaign yet NOW IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO DO SO! I can't wait to get into @atticrecordingstudio in July to translate this beautiful mess in my heart into an album that I pray will be valuable for you and the church at large. So here are a few ways you can help me finish with a bang - 1. Visit the campaign page 2. Watch & Read 3. PREORDER & PLEDGE 4. Upgrade your exhausting pledge to a higher level 5. SHARE the link EVERYWHERE for the next 24 hours Peace, peace, peace to you all! Week one of the "Songs of Sorrow / Songs of Hope" Kickstarter campaign is officially in the bag! With over $6,000 raised by 65 incredible donors we are now less than $2,000 away from securing the funding for the record and thus being able to produce the dang thing. I'm so humbled, so grateful and feel so encouraged at not just the financial buy in, but with all the words of support for the making of this worship/protest record. Over 100 people have shared the Kickstarter campaign across social networks. This project means so much to me. It's been brewing for years as I've wandered the world and tried to make sense of God in the midst of it. These songs are pouring out of me and I just can't wait to share them with you... So for those who haven't had a chance to pre-order the record and pledge to the campaign I invite you to visit the Kickstarter page, watch the video, read about why I'm making this record, pre-order your copy, pledge a little more and then share it with the world! Together we can do it!!! (Link is in my profile) #worshipisprotest #worship #protest #songsofsorrowsongsofhope #singingforourlives
This pic was commissioned by John, who wanted me to draw his college "little sib" a present aka a chibi-version of the sib with her Pokemon team. :)
GAAAHHHH this teaser stuff is breaking my heart in two. You can see him just like struggling to keep balance when she tells him that. Blergh.
I KNOW. he looks like he’s just been gutted. it’s shattering my heart :(
Curious, as a huge SFU fan - what are (were? are? are.) your thoughts on Nate Fisher as a character/his development/his ending? It's a pretty powerful moment for sure but polarizing I guess in whether people felt bad for him, or his family, or both... :3
eep sorry!!! this got lost in my inbox.
i love nate fisher, i love everything about him. he was a character in a LOT of pain and yet he had the courage to do a lot of things i think a lot of people don’t. and i think his ending was fitting. i don’t think nate was happy in this life, at all. he felt so deeply, and there was so much pain this world, i think the only way for him to be at peace was for him to die. he always felt like a bit of a tortured soul to me, always searching for more, searching for something that maybe didn’t exist. all i wanted was for nate to find peace. and i think he found it, as tragic as it was. i love nate, and i always will.
Do you see all of your TV feels more of a blessing or a curse? Your blog is fantastic and I always look forward to your dissections and theories and posts but it just seems so emotionally taxing! haha
A blessing. I love that stories are able to make me feel this way! I think when we let stories into our lives in this way, they change the way we see the world. For the better. By making us think in different ways. Encouraging us to get close to so many different kinds of people, understand them better, sympathize and understand the perspective of those that are different from us. Reflecting upon stories helps me relate things back to real life and honestly there’s so many things I’ve figured out by critically thinking about these well written shows, things I am constantly relating back to my own life and things I try to remember to help me be a better person. So yeah it can be emotionally taxing. But I also feel like I’ve gained a lot of emotional intelligence and life lessons from it, and I’m glad for it! :)
