Any advice/encouragement for people going into the arts industry? Also I wanted to say I think your great and very talented! Have a nice day
Well, I don’t really think I’m qualified to give advice on that particular subject, seeing as I myself am not yet in the arts industry - at least not on a professional level.
But with art in general, I’d say the best thing you can do is use your resources and don’t limit yourself.
If you don’t like doing backgrounds, find a reference image of simple scenery that you like and try your best to recreate it. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just focus on getting the basic forms, colors, and the overall composition as close as you can.
If you only do digital paintings, try your hand at traditional mediums from time-to-time.
If you’re partial to one particular style or genre of art, give other styles a go!
Versatility is an incredibly useful skill as an artist; the better rounded your experience is, the more creative and efficient your art will be.
And doing this may open your eyes to a brand new passion that you never knew you had! For instance: I used to be very hesitant to make anything in full-color because I was afraid it would ruin the piece. But I’ve learned through trial and error that color & lighting can be so much fun to experiment with, it can bring a concept to life! I still appreciate a good sketch, but now I’m able to make colored work if/when I want to.
Just keep expanding your horizons, and don’t ever write something off as a failure after the first attempt. Sometimes you don’t notice the progress you’re making until you’re looking back on it.
