[Link growing up really loved stories. About up until his mom died (which was nine or so) he had his head in the clouds more often than not, and could be a bit of a bookworm when it came to Hyrulean history and legends. Dragons, knights, sages, princesses, heroes, you name it, little Wolfie was all over it.]
[He was also VERY shy/quiet, and hardly interacted with the other villagers at all … unless someone were telling a story, at which point you could expect a little blond kid to silently wander up and sit as far away as he could while remaining in earshot.]
[Both of these tendencies ended when his mom died/he got Epona. Epona and the work that came with raising a horse brought him closer to the villagers, and stories and books and daydreaming were slowly abandoned in favor of practical things.]
[Post-quest, not to much has changed since, save that now he can tell you most of the stories he knows from experience, and he has a very different perspective on those romanticized stories about dragons and knights.]
