The design was adopted by the fan-made Sins Of The Prophets (SotP) mod, who gave it the fanon name "Esgem". This is how it came to be featured in Halo Infinite; an image of the recreation made for SotP by Malcontent1692 was used in the skybox of the multiplayer map Highpower!
