The blow to the head was a surprise if the undead could feel surprise. But the electricity that followed was not. It arched through the air, hitting the heads of every undead it could, he stood tall in protecting some of the locals who were cowering behind him. Already preparing the small bakery as a base of defence of sorts. Preparing to barricade it. It was obvious that the guard was not a local with his ears and own body shape.

He figures, the very least he could do since one of those paper boats had been forcefully stuffed in his hand, was use it to grant his parents a proper send off. Waver’s never been over emotional about the subject, but with Rider here and very much alive, there was no one else he knew of worth mourning. The boat sits idle on his lap for a while, irregardless of the hundreds of essays and thesis he’s ever written, finding the right words to wish his goodbyes proves a far more daunting task.

The first night of the festival was over, and Cloud had spent most of the day trying to sleep it off. Of course, int he last City, he’d developed a rather haphazard sleep schedule - if you could call it that. He’d more or less learned how to be awake or asleep at any given time.

This was both a blessing and a curse.

By the time he dragged himself back outside in the late afternoon, preparations for the second night of celebration was already well underway; the only reason he hadn’t stayed in bed longer was because of the sound of drills. he had no idea what was going to happen - and he planned to get some sleep between now and when things actually got started - but for now, he might as well help out.

On the other hand, he had no idea where to get started. So he picked out the first person who didn’t look too busy - if anything, he looked more like he was in some kind of supervisory position over all of the nearby workers - and looked around, a little bit blearily. Unusual for him to still be tired like this, but it wasn’t exactly his choice.

“You guys need help with anything?”

          The sun sets, ushering in the night sky; time hurries forward, and still he wanders about the streets with little to no answers. Frustration begins to glosses over his features, brows gradually creasing closer together to signify his current demeanor. Teeth previously grit together now part, and his voice, slightly unbridled ( to match his mood ) whispers a few choice words under his breath. Whispers though they might have been, due to quiet atmosphere surrounding him, it comes out louder than he anticipates. Despite this, he remains unconcerned, until of course, he hears faint footsteps lingering behind him. His gaze peers up from the pavement beneath him, and soon shift to meet the gaze of man. Had this been any other situation, he’d walk away, and think nothing of it—yet this time around, it had felt as though the man before him had something to say.

          “... Uh... can I help you...?” The tone he uses is untoward, as is his remark.
