My feelings about Anakin and Padmé can really be summed up in one passage from my fic:

“But you think they could be good for each other?” “I think they were practically made for each other. The Code may frown upon it, but I think forcing them apart might tear the galaxy in two. If Anakin told me he wanted to leave the Order to be with Padmé, I would tell him to do so without a second thought. Selfishly, though, I hope he can reach an understanding that allows him to have both her and the Order, and I want to believe that’s possible.”

I love the Jedi and I love Anidala and I want those two things to be compatible (even if it requires some plot contrivance). Sorry not sorry but let Anakin have his laser sword and his wife please.

Something I really want to get better about as a fic writer (and particularly a star wars fic writer) is not agonizing so much on whether I'm misrepresenting things, specifically things that are the topic of intense discourse in a fandom. Gotta remember that I'm allowed to write what I want to write and I don't need to justify myself to others.

I care so much about my star wars au like that is my baby even if I get a bit insecure about some of my more self-indulgent choices

like yes I did make barriss and padmé friends because I project onto barriss and padmé is my favorite star wars character and also because dear god both of those women need more friends but like. I can justify it! I have spent a lot of time thinking about this I promise. they’re both weird little nerds who are in romantic relationships with jedi, and whose opinions on the jedi and their practices are informed by that. the fact that barriss is a jedi herself is validating for padmé. they’re both passionately anti-war, and share a lot of other political beliefs as well. idk it makes sense to me and that’s what matters I guess

it is so damn stupid that the s comes after the z in vizsla. I spent three whole chapters writing it the other way around because why would the s come after my eastern european heritage objects

had a classic Cat Owning Household experience today where we got extremely scared that one of ours had gotten out after we couldn’t find her anywhere, only for her to inexplicably reappear inside the house this evening

the star wars viewing order discourse is the stupidest shit ever the movies are literally numbered in their intended viewing order

it’s really a classic case of “you have thought about this far too much, and yet, also far too little.” George Lucas didn’t go back only a couple years after the original release of ‘star wars’ and add ‘episode IV: a new hope’ to the title crawl for you to be like “actually, I think it’s better if I watch that one first, and the one called episode I fourth.”

Do what you want I guess but don’t pretend watching the movies in the wrong order makes you smarter than george lucas

EDIT: to be clear, the correct viewing order is I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and then decide against watching the sequel trilogy because they’re superfluous to the arc of the Lucas movies
