Brain has been bad, so I drew a Siphanta acuta (leafhopper/plabthopper). I love these guys so much, they have vein patterns to look like leaves and little red snoots. 😭 Gonna turn him into a sticker.

Multiple images included for clarity - I notice she has a lot of spades in her outfit and her hand symbol thing, which reminds me of this insect :)
Found in the lemon and lime trees is this beautiful Australian native, the Green Planthopper, or Siphanta acuta, which is camouflaged with triangular wings to look just like a little leaf. If it weren’t for the little eye that I happened to glimpse at while observing some caterpillars, it would have gone entirely unnoticed. It kept up the facade while I grabbed a quick shot. Location: Monash, ACT, Australia
drew this little siphanta sippin’ Fanta
a Siphanta Acuta (aka green planthopper or torpedo bug) (or at least im pretty sure thats what he is!) that was hanging out with me when i brought my dog outside! I saw him and took some pictures before he hopped up onto my shoulder and hung out with me for a couple minutes! we’d been seeing their nymphs around in the forest we live in front of and if im being honest, mistakenly took them to be mealybugs at first;; not my proudest moment. they can be considered a pest of banana, citrus, coffee, guava, macadamia, and many ornamentals depending on where theyre living, and are smol (only a ~25mm wingspan) and are native to Australia but have travelled elsewhere!
