FOSSIL FRIDAY - MERRY XMAS! Siphonia sp. in flint.
This fossil friday, in honour of the day, is in no way Christmassy!! It is a fossil Siphona sponge in flint (Choanite) from the uderlying chalk under Brighton, and collected in Tongdean Lane by Mr H. Jones-Williams in January 1937. It was later donated to the museum by a MR CC Titcombe, who is listed as donor/vendor.
