SippRogers isn't your typical rapper, that wants to make a buck off of the self endulging lyrics and the already heard theme, nay he adds his own twist to the over-used whore of a theme. His name doesn't make much sense, unless you start thinking about lean, then it'd make sense, but this review isn't about names, it's about his mixtape "Supreme eggs and oatmeal." Now, Supreme isn't the greatest brand out there, but it isn't the worst either, it has a lot of popularity but it's generated by the small "illipeno" boys that decide to consider jean jackets and chino pants as the staple of style. Supreme is a great brand and i respect it, but its messenger isn't all that great. Aside from the disappointing title for the mixtape, there is also the slight disappointing typical usage of weed, women and money. We get it, that's what dives you to rap, but please at least address it a bit better, and SippRogers does it a bit. His flow is fair and his lyrics do him some justice, with the disses and the self proclaiming words that tell us he is an obvious stoner that shops at thrift stores and calls out Earl Sweat's imagination (see track 5 "where's chavo 2"). The Texan rapper has some style and although he sounds typical and possible done for, he does hav shining moments, especially with some similies, and metaphors. His lyrics are admirable and they come out strong, showing his character with quite the transparency. His idea of rap is obvious and should be looked at with a new perspective as his tracks are all bumpable and easy to hear, they do please the ear with the soft, classic hip hop feel and ambience, covered with a nice classic flow. SippRoger's 12 track mixtape hits hard with lines here and there but it's a pleasure to listen to, especially in a session, the sounds and vibe is extremely inviting and its soft feel gives such a great sound. Chuckles will come and go as Rogers hits us with some classic lyrical tricks. Download and enjoy the mixtape with a few joints. - Daniel
