Veritas has a modicum of trust in the Astral Express humans. As much as he can muster. He admires their determination and willingness to help. They didn't have to save Penacony; they were just random actors who walked onto the stage at the wrong time. They stayed there and played the main characters. They felt like running around like dogs chasing prey. What was the point of all this? He'd love to know. Now he has a chance to talk about this incident.
"Have you lost friends? You're standing there like a pillar of salt."
@sirencantata just misery
It seems that even attempting to avoid people, he still ends up drawing them in, or just being found by them. Especially when he doesn't even have the strength to move. Prone, lying upon the ground in the meadow as if the very nature was slowly aiming to reclaim him with the way the long grass and wild flowers were somehow framing his figure. A few beads of sweat rolled down the side of his face; besides his flushed face, the only indication of the fact that the man was overheating in the scorching heat, but with not even a shred of strength to his figure to do anything about it.
Instead, another exhale escapes him, focusing on controlling his breathing as he attempts to move his arm, to even remotely push himself up bu the trembling limb can't even get enough pressure to pull it off. The attempt is met with a wave of dizziness that drags him right back down, not even a few inches off the ground. Moments pass before he speaks. "My sincere apologies for such a poor meeting."
@sirencantata ♡'d for a starter!
' Hey! Hey, pretty lady- I, uh- if... if you've seen a very angry green-haired woman stomp around the city, can ya tell her that I'm not in this bush? Tell her I said that. Not in this bush. Nuh-uh. No person named Itto in these leaves. None. '
❝ you should kill that guy. ❞ he's well aware his opinion is unsolicited and more than likely unwanted — he just doesn't particularly care. loki sits backwards in his chair, legs crossed at the ankles. his chin rests on the backrest, arms wrapped around it in a lazy mockery of an embrace. ❝ you should kill him. ❞ the trickster repeats — as if he wasn't clear enough the first time. ❝ he's being annoying, so why not? i'll help ... ❞ words trail off for a moment. loki stretches — slow and full body, like a feline roused from slumber. ❝ mmh ... maybe. ❞ then, like a marionette whose strings have been sliced clean through, the god slumps unceremoniously back into his original position. ❝ maybe i'll just watch ~ ♫ ❞ that could be interesting, too.

Once, Dan Heng never thought of himself as the teacherly type. Throughout most of his life, he felt he'd been the one who had been taught, and indeed, much of his life was a learning experience. So, it might be seen as a surprise when Dan Heng had spent the better part of the morning teaching Calliope's three children in a quiet few hours on history and the culture of Belobog, a young planet that seemed like good proving ground instead of overwhelming young minds. It was by the afternoon that Dan Heng supervised Ezekiel, Ginerva, and Nimi as they read their ways through light chapter books he thought would engage them. Although, with lunch coming soon...
"Oh, Calliope. Considering the time... should we break for lunch?"

A quiet exhale rips free from the man as the tip of the cane digs further into the concrete ground, while each step is a bit heavier, less light than he usually keeps them, and with more weight placed upon it. Danger lurks far too much in these coming days; there are far too many unpredictabilities and predictables. Yet, his gaze is instead brought to someone who certainly looks a bit lost, a momentary thought if he should move on, but instead he pushes that aside as he strides closer.
"Ma'am, you look a little lost. Need some help?"
