Sir Kutta DuFrane: MILWAUKEE 2 TEXAS
I received this album at the CD release party at Lola's a little over a month ago. It has played in rotation in my CD player in the car before I decided to review it.
Overall it's a very good album, the beats and lyrics are top notch. DJ Remode did a great job on the beats and cuts. Sir Kutta Dufrane is a talented lyricist. The intro definitely set the tone for album, "Here's how it goes, I'm a genius I guess."
Favorite tracks:
Pawnz: Love the beginning beat. "Why you steady looking outside, I'm looking in." The sleeve of the CD doesn't say who the track is featuring, but the dynamic between the different MC's is great. Great beats, nice lyrics, good track.
Will Survive: Another great intro to the song. "I will survive, I make the music til I die." "We do it just for you, make some noise if you're true." All great lyrics about the struggle of life, using music as an outlet. Great music, great lyrics, great beats.
Over all a good record. It's in my rotation. I look forward to see more from Sir Kutta and the other guys in DK. I think they are well rounded with talented people around them, the only way they can go is up if they put their minds to it.
