It was a bit chilly that night at the park, not a soul to be seen as Ryuko crept along like someone on a mission. She was going to be killed, or at least grounded, if her absence from home was noticed, but she had a mission to important to let bedtimes and rules hold her back. She had a werewolf to find, so she can prove there really was one in the neighborhood, she’d even done enough research through picture books and cartoons to deem herself a valid monster hunter. In truth the ‘werewolf’ was probably just a stray dog, but Ryuko was a child with a wild imagination.
“If a werewolf’s part dog, then it should like hanging round parks, dogs like parks. Maybe this ain’t the right park.”

You’d think some place as cheery and bright as Ooo would be easier to travel than something as desolate and harsh as, say, Wasteland. But as Jade found out, it was just as taxing. With an exasperated sigh, she cast her bag to the ground and soon followed it, falling next to it and resting her elbows on her knees.
How many stories could she come up with before someone figured out she was lying? The wizard one would only last so long, before a legit wizard showed up and called out her bullshit. She never imagined that hiding the fact she was one hundred percent human would be a hard task, but guess what! It was. This was surreal.
After calming her nerves, Jade took a look around to assess where she was. A dark forest stretched ‘round her, trees barren of their leaves.. She could tell, however, the trees weren’t leafless from seasonal changes, or something normal like that: the ground was made up of mostly dirt, and moss, with scarcely any leaves on the ground whatsoever. Those trees were dead, their husks standing like dark skeletons mingling together in the remnants of some sacrificial ritual.
...Damn it, Rose was still affecting her even while she was off traversing the multiverse with Jade’s brother, and Rose’s alien boyfriend. Fuck.
Though, there was no doubt in Jade’s mind that the analogy to a sacrificial ritual was a fitting one: this forest was creepy. She wasn’t afraid to admit that this place unnerved her, with sounds coming from sources unknown filling the tense air. It wasn’t the best place to stop for a break, but it’d have to do. Night was fast approaching, the sun dipping below the horizon as darkness blanketed the forest quicker than it would’ve back home on the Islands, which weren’t creepy, or seemed like the perfect place for a murder. Oh the jokes Dave would’ve made about her choice in rest stop, all the references to that one actor Jade cared nothing for. Yeah, like there were cannibals in the forest. She’d more likely believe in the stories of those...what were they, hug wolves? Yeah, those shits.
“Damn it, Jade. You practically live in Mojave. A creepy forest is nothing,” she muttered under her breath to reassure her that her decision was a good one. Even as she swore she heard things moving deeper in the thick woods behind and around her, she told herself over and over again: “There’s nothing there. It’s just your mind playing tricks on you, because the brain is fucking stupid.”
It’s just a forest. There’s nothing weird out here. You have a goddamned Deathclaw back at home that is studying medical sciences, nothing here could get any weirder than that.

Typically these types of breaching operations weren’t ones that were handled by a sole operative. They’d have Manako set up a perimeter while Tio and Zombina broke in to capture the rogue extraspecies and bring them in. However, not only were the others busy, but they had a description of the offender this time. Everything about him pointed to some sort of undead. If anyone was going to head in alone, it’d be Zombina.
It had only been a couple nights ago that he’d broken into the warehouse and claimed it as his own. The owner had been too afraid to call just in case the undead noticed and took revenge on him, but hearing of recent capture successes had inspired more confidence and encouraged him to contact them. They decided for the operation to take place at night, of course- easier to hide the cop cars a distance away. The zombie ran quickly and quietly to the front entrance of the warehouse- a loading door she was just able to wedge her fingers under. Grunting with effort, she lifted it up enough for her to shimmy under, the metallic rolling of the door being lifted up and then let down audible through probably most of the warehouse.
Not wanting to alert him just in case he was none the wiser, Zombina crept through the warehouse quietly, searching every nook and cranny she could find for the guy. She brandished dual sawed-off shotguns along the way, loaded with rock salt rounds for incapacitation. If they’d worked for purifying Cici when she got out-of-control, hopefully they’d work on this guy too, even if his exact species was unknown. Of course, she also had her PP-2000s in case things had to get a bit more violent...

The young girl tossed herself into the side of a nearby car - the metal curling around her as she hit it. She’d missed her usual mindless destruction, the Puffs had been pretty on top of it lately so this was the first time she’d been able to deal out some violence for a while.
When she forced herself out of the metal - and started pulling glass from her hair. It took her another good few moments to notice the oddly colored teen. She was fairly sure that he hadn’t been there before she’d plowed the car.
“ What are you looking at ? “
