Valentine’s Event—the Winners
Today’s the day! Mary thought, nearly skipping as she entered the Radio Tower. She’d been out sick for days, stuck at home in her bed with a mountain of used tissues by her side. Both the Director and Ben had made her stay home—who’d be so unkind as to have her work during her illness?—but today she’d forced herself to get dressed and head to work. She was exhausted and her body felt like it’d been hit by a train, but she had an event to run. Mary felt terrible for postponing it on Valentine’s Day, but nobody but her knew how to run the event, so there was little choice in the matter. Besides, she was as anxious as everyone else to see who’d be the lucky new parents for the adoptable Pokémon.
DJ Mary greeted several of her office-mates before skirting around the Director. If he saw her, he’d send her home for sure. So she took the long route to her booth, avoiding any of her co-workers who’d sell her out to her boss. Mary clutched her belongings to her chest and slipped into her office, locking it behind her with a soft click. She only relaxed once she was safely settled on her chair.
By now, her audience should have lovingly received their intended Valentine’s. She’d received word that the Dragonite had successfully delivered each and every Valentine, and that they’d done it in record time! As far as Mary knew, everything went flawlessly. There was no way this could have turned out to be like the pudgy Pidgey incident from last year.
And so the DJ quickly entered the names on her new computer program—the old Raffle Ball Chooser of Wonders machine had finally broken down—and let it do its magic. Four names were selected a few seconds later. Mary smiled. They were perfect! She nodded to herself and flicked the ‘on’ switch to her ON AIR light and did the same with her microphone. It flashed red. It’s time.
FENNEL, NANU, and ROSA—Congratulations! Your names were the first to be drawn in the raffle. You may now pick one (1) shiny Pokemon as your very own, so long as it is a Normal, Psychic, or Fairy-type. There is no need to wait for the other winners to make their pick; everyone can choose whichever type they desire, regardless of what other types were chosen.
PLUMERIA—Congratulations! Although you weren’t part of the Top Three winners, you will still receive a prize. Head on over to DJ Mary’s booth at the Radio Tower to claim your reward; she has something very special for you.
