VI: The Starlight • My review in a nutshell: This bitterly satirical representation of a somewhat-dystopian industrial town, #Coketown, strictly ruled by an Utilitarian mentality, is a great criticism of industrialism and capitalism, showing that facts, self-interest, hard work and harsh realities cannot always work and are not enough for humans, who also need true love, sentiments, imagination, some romanticism and fun in their lives, too, and that those educated under such a harsh system can end up in very bad situations, like becoming criminals or unable to love; as well as exposing that the successful snobbish capitalists, like Josiah #Bounderby, who constantly brags about his humble beginnings and hard work, are unfeeling, self-seeking yet ridiculous liars. ~ «“... there is a wisdom of the Head, and that there is a wisdom of the Heart.
