The girl was on her way to Winterfell, after her short stop to kill Walder Fray because out of revenge after he was responsible for the death of her mother and brother. And that couldn’t be unpaid actually. So Arya did some tricks that she had learned. Now it was damn time to head back home, where she belonged, knowing that they would think she would be dead. Not aware that Brienne had told Sansa that the youngest Stark girl was still alive. The girl saw Winterfell but something felt odd like it wasn’t the same as it used to be.
Here goes nothing right, once she came closer she noticed that it wasn’t the same Winterfell as it used to be. Once she was at the gate and the guards opened it, they didn’t wanted her to get pass it. “Let me in, this is my home.” Why don’t they believe her. “I’m Arya Stark.” Of course she’s been gone for a long time.
One guard went to get someone to see if she can identify the girl. Once the guard saw Sansa. ‘Milady, there’s a girl at the gate, saying she’s Arya Stark.’
