Being the only girl in my grade who's timer hasn't gone off, is the worst thing ever. Everyone else is saying how their timers keep ticking down to the moment when they meet their soulmate.
But, every few years there's someone who's timer doesn't even start. No one knows what that occurrence means, and I honestly thought mine would never have started, but boy was I wrong.
"Y/n get your ass down here, and hurry up!" My Grandpa yelled from downstairs. I groan, getting out of bed, I quickly get dressed not wanting to get yelled at again, then run downstairs. “I’m here, I’m here” I chuckle, placing a kiss on his cheek before grabbing a bite of bacon.
“Timer start yet?” he asks, just like every morning, I let out a scoff, “highly doubt it..” I say before I look down.
Oh boy... The clock on my wrist that said 28 hours now said 24, “I… I’m gonna meet him in 24 hours” I whisper quietly, my grandpa goes quiet, shaking his head as he groans.
“Okay, what is that for? You literally just asked me if it started, and now you're acting all upset and I-”
“It’s not you sweetheart, I promise, it’s the people who're gonna be here in 24 hours that worries me” He admits, making me raise a brow.
“Okay.. what does that have to do with me, gramps?” I ask, “who says that they're my soulmate, what if I'm not even here” I roll my eyes, shaking my head, “I’ve got work, I’ll see you in the morning” I grab my purse and quickly leave, not really wanting to deal with this.
Working the diner wasn’t that bad, I got free pie after work if we didn’t sell out of it, it was amazing. Gramps didn’t think so, he just hated pie.
“Hey! Looks like our little late bloomer finally had her timer start” Someone laughs, I ignore them, and quickly clean off tables, covering the timer on my wrist.
I move to the back, shaking my head and hiding behind all the jackets, as much as I wanted my timer to start, I hated the attention I got from it.
I look down at the scarred up timer, I had tried multiple times to take it off, make it go away and let everyone think my timer just disappeared, but no matter how hard I tried, it was always there when I woke up, and when I went to bed every day of my life.
A few hours later
Once work was over, it was midnight, I make my way home, the light of the moonlighting my path, I look up, biting my cheek, my mind going back to my timer as I walk.
I chew at my lip, a bad habit of mine when my mind takes control, “hey ma..” I say softly, look up, “it’s me,” I say even quieter.
“It’s been awhile since I’ve said anything, but my timer finally started, I’m meeting my soulmate in the next..” I look down quickly, “16 hours” I add, “A moment I never thought I’d get” I shake my head, letting out a half laugh half sob.
“Why did it have to start so late? I’m 28 years old now… forever known as the late bloomer in town” I shake my head, “Gramps won’t tell me anything anymore, won’t let me go on hunts, the leviathans are here, apparently their gods first monsters, and they're horrible creatures, they can steal someone's appearance with just a strand of hair, it’s so stupid” I complain, I walk, shaking my head as I do.
“I was raised to be a hunter. I don’t know what he wants from me mom, it’s all I know. I can’t settle down, definitely not with someone who doesn't know hunting things” I spoke with a frown. “He doesn’t want me to end up like you and dad… but I know better than that, I'm not stupid, no offense ma” I shake my head, and look up as I reach my grandpa’s house, and shop, Singers Auto, yup, My grandfather is Robert Singer.
I quickly make my way inside, going up to my room, and quickly falling asleep, putting the day I just had behind me.
Or tried to anyway, my mind racing, trying to figure who my soulmate could possibly be, it wasn’t anyone I knew, that’s for sure. I stared at the glow stars on my ceiling, unsure of what’s to come in the next 16 hours.
Dean’s POV
I look down at my wrist, then at Sammy’s “how is it that our timers are always in sync?” I ask Sam shrugs, “your guess is as good as mine Dean, who knows, maybe there are two girls at Bobby’s” he shrugs, shaking his head, I continue driving, not wanting to make any stops until they got to Bobby’s.
After another few hours, I pull into Bobby’s yard and park in the back, planning on working on baby for a few hours before we learned anything new about Dick freaking Roman, I get out, making my way inside and see Bobby making breakfast, “Morning old man” I tease, he glares, “keep that up, and you won’t get bacon” he laughs when I pout.
Sam laughs, shaking his head and going to sit down at the table, I sneak a glance at my wrist, 2 hours left, it was weird, in all my years, I never thought I’d actually make it to this moment, ever actually, but here I am, two hours away, and I was nervous as hell. Meaning Sam was too, he hadn’t had anyone serious since Jess, so this was different for him as well.
“So, Bobby, learn anything new about Dick Roman?” Sam asks breaking the silence between them all, Bobby shrugs, “he’s head dick in charge, that’s about it,” he says, shrugging lightly, “Not sure what else you think I could find about him when I'm with my granddaughter, who I’m trying to make stop hunting” he states, my heart races, oh shit, I think to myself, there’s no way in hell that Bobby’s granddaughter was my soulmate, Sam’s definitely, but me, hell no, Bobby would make sure nothing happened.
Sam nods, “How is she doing with that by the way, last we talked you had to drag her ass back from a hunt” he chuckles, I shrug, chuckling myself, maybe she could be my soulmate.
Bobby shakes his head, “she’s actually on a hunt know, she can hunt when it’s close by, but that’s it, the last hunt, the hunt that I dragged her back from, was a vamp nest, we only accounted for there being 10, there was over 20 in a nest.. Somethings happening and that’s why I brought her back and won’t let her hunt… her arm is scarred up because of it” he spoke, making me shake my head lightly.
30 minutes left
I paced, shaking my head, “I’m seriously so bored right now,” I groan, looking at Bobby and Sam, “you’re not bored, you're anxious because you have 30 minutes till you meet your soulmate and I honestly feel bad for the girl” Sam says.
I scoff, glaring at him, “well I feel bad for the girl you're matched with, has to deal with your nerdiness, Bitch” I growl, I roll my eyes, and move to sit down, shaking my head and closing my eyes.
Sam and Bobby are talking, and I tune them out, wondering what my soulmate will look like, maybe all the girls I’ve been with, god I hope not, I look at Bobby and Sam, before my timer, I sat up straighter, I shake my head, I feel like a damn girl, I groan, falling back into my chair, throwing my head back.
Y/n POV
I pull into my grandpa's shop, noticing a nice Impala parked out front, I feel my heart pick up knowing that just inside the door my soulmate would be waiting for me, I shake my head and climb out of my car, biting my lip gently I grab my bag and start walking up to the door, I gently grip the handle and walk in, “Hey pop’s I'm back!” I call out, I turn the corner, my eyes scanning the two men with my grandpa, my timer stopping at zero.
“wait... “ the tallest one says, then the small one shakes his head, “Sam how does… nu-uh!” he states.
Grandpa looks at them both, “What?” He asks, breaking the two from the stare they were doing.
“Um.. she’s our soulmate, Bobby, Mine and Deans” the tall one, Sam I think, says, making my heart race, “wait… what?”
The short one, Dean, nods softly, “we had the same time as each other… they both just hit zero as soon as we saw you…”
“You’re our soulmate, and we’re both yours,” Sam says.
