Who did Obi-Wan have to blame, really?

There was no one but himself.

Himself, his ugly, open wound of an attachment, festering, infected with green and black pus and rot, and his inability to take the bandage off and show Anakin the damage he’s done to himself by reopening the gash every time Anakin tried to show his own wound.

All he did was keep covering both of their injuries.

Someday, the blood would catch infection, and they would both perish with the rash of yearning staining their skin, unsated.

But at this particular moment, only Obi-Wan was bleeding.

“It seems there is little you don’t know, my little one.” “I know your name is Obi-Wan Kenobi,” Anakin says haughtily. “I know you are a Jedi, you fight in the conflict you call the Clone Wars, and you’re called the Negotiator because you can play diplomat with any planet. I know your master’s name was Qui-Gon Jinn, and he died at the hands of a xari user. I know you drink tea in the mornings and you don’t take sugar with it.” Anakin pauses, his eyes lowering demurely. “I know I have dreamt of you and your life since my mother passed and left me lonely and seeking someone for myself.” It’s… unsettling, really, how intimately Anakin knows these things. This boy feels as if he’s known Obi-Wan for years and years, but Obi-Wan only met him yesterday. “I guess that proves my point.” “No.” Anakin tugs on the sleeve of Obi-Wan’s cloak, his eyes round and beseeching. “I have watched parts of your life in my slumber. I have observed. But I have not seen into your head. I’ve not known your version of things.” Anakin chews on his lower lip and says, very softly, “I want to know your version.”
