Say NO to your insecurities!! #sixmonthchallenge #No
Wake up thirty minutes earlier.
In the past year, I've realized that I really don't like to wake up late. I feel as though I'm wasting my entire day. I like waking up, making a cup of coffee, and being able to clear my mind so I can start my day. :) Half the time, I'm out the door before 10 or 11 o'clock! I just feel so much more accomplished. As well as, I don't like going to bed early, either. It's all a matter of time. We don't have a lot of time on this earth, so make the best of the time that you do have! :)
Overtip
You work hard. And you know you work hard. Sometimes its nice to just be able to get off work, meet up with a few friends, and go get some dinner at drinks at your favorite restaurant. It's fun, you enjoy laughs and smiles and good eats! Well, it wouldn't have been possible without a certain someone. You got it, your server.
After that long hard day at work, you don't want to have to worry about cooking your own food and burning the house down. You want someone else to do all of the work! Which is fine, but just don't forget - someone is working really hard for YOU, so YOU should appreciate it and tip well. In fact, overtip. Your server won't expect it and you may just make their day. :)
Keep a tight reign on your temper.
People suck. Lets be honest. Most everyone only cares about making money or impressing others. So many places will screw you out of money just to make an extra dollar. It's kind of frustrating.
But that's on them. Others can do what they want, but the way you react is your choice. Make the right one and be calm and patient with others.
I've definitely learned that patience is a valuable thing, after working with 3-5 year old children for 5 years :D They are seriously the best, but lets be real - if patience isn't your strong suit, I don't recommend that you work in Early Childhood.
But I'm learning and I'm growing and I'm becoming the best person I can be!! :)
Always do your best.. Not what needs to be done, but what needs to be done and beyond.
This is something I go back and forth with, depending on my mood, of course. If I am in a shitty mood, I'm going to do like the bare essentials. If I'm in a wonderful mood, I'm going to do everything I can to do my absolute best. But I've really got to realize that good things come from hard work. My wonderful mood keeps getting more and more wonderful when I do things over the top, because I feel confident and excited. If I was always this way, then I will always be in a good mood :)
I also think there is a short term/long term issue going on here, as well. Short term, you get your results right away and you're immediately graced. Long term, well, takes a while, and it discourages you to do your best. For example, college. I'm almost 4 years into college and haven't received any sort of degree. Although I decided to make the best of it and double major, it's still started to get me a little anxious. But if I pull through and finish strong, hopefully good things will come :)
So take me as an example. Good things come to those who work hard. :)
