I did something today that I have put off since 2018/19… I got my wedding rings sized up. I’ve been putting it off because I wanted to believe that the lupus stuff I deal with would be managed well enough not to need changes. I’ve been putting it off because, to me, having them sized up felt like such a permanent action of giving up on my idea of a “normal” life, a life unaffected by lupus. BUT- today I did it. I put my pride aside and made the choice that I’d rather be able to wear my jewelry every day than hold on to the hope that my hands will behave like “normal” hands. I feel like I took a big step towards acceptance today. Also, the sweet humans at the jewelry store asked questions, gave advice for the future, and were so unbelievably kind. I left feeling glad. I left feeling excited to be able to wear my rings every day, instead of *maybe* twice a week. I pick up the big ring next Tuesday ❤️ I feel peaceful about the lupus thing for the first time in awhile… I also feel so privileged to be married to my best friend who shows unending compassion. #lupus #lupuswarrior #bowersjewelry #weddingrings #sizeup #dontboxyourselfin #trust #acceptance #autoimmunedisease #onedayatatime #alifeatthelanding https://www.instagram.com/p/CP3-7-fDnDz/?utm_medium=tumblr
