One of the things that I think is an important element with Beckett is that she has chosen a profession in which she is forced regularly to sacrifice her own happiness & life for the good of a greater community. She’s a police officer. There will be birthdays, dates, dinners, parties, etc. that she will miss because her job is to SERVE her community. That’s a compromise. And not everyone can make it. And not every partner (Castle) can handle it. But the two of them are cut from the same cloth, in that vein. Because they BOTH care about justice. And to me, they’re heroes…” - Stana Katic
