Skathi’s regeneration is very powerful in the sense that she can heal from almost any wound (sans a fatal blow to the heart or brain), but it isn’t perfect

Each injury still leaves a scar, and will eventually reach a point where the tissue is so damaged that it can no longer be healed. This is more of an issue with her organs because they’re more delicate, which is how she’s ended up blind in one eye

There’s also the fact that unlike undeads like Ashe or eldritch bullshit like Vallis, Skathi is still fully alive. She’s still susceptible to illnesses, can drown or suffocate, or die of just plain-old old age. But, considering how hard she fights and how happily she’s willing to throw herself into highly dangerous situations, probably the only way you’d know if she actually did suffer a fatal wound and became undead is if she starts eating any flesh she tears off with her teeth

Inktober / OC October Day 31: Viltau

the final theme is, of course, halloween! i know i used a nightmare before christmas song for the final pic last inktober, and i feel like ive drawn vil in jack skellington’s outfit before, but jack’s lament is the perfect theme for vil when hes being Overdramatic about being bored so i gotta do it for this pic

and thats another inktober done! somehow this year ended up being way more time-consuming than last year and i nearly fell behind quite a few times, but despite the poses being a lot more simpler compared to last year im pretty proud with how all the outfits and themes turned out this year. and it was a lot of fun designing outfits and getting to put my characters in different clothes both fit the theme and would also be something i could see them wearing

... now to see if i can continue my successful inktober completion streak next year

o fucc its that time of year again. like when i first started oc october back in 2015, im randomising all my characters to draw every day

i impulse purchased some red copic ciao markers on my way home from work and goddamn theyre so smooth compared to my faber-castell artist pens... but also so much more expensive......

also i cant draw foreshortened poses to save my life so thank you skathi for owning large axes i can cover wonky anatomy with and thank you for also strategically chopping off limbs so i dont have to draw the other arm

Skathi Reckam is someone in dire need of new art but I'm too tired to draw something right now spent most of her childhood dedicating her life to Flarp, seeing it as a means to get noticed by Fleet officials and secure her place in a decent position so she wouldn't go to waste on the front lines. This paid off massively for her, as while she never got to be an Apotheculler like she dreamed of, she was instead recruited into the Cardinal Corps: An elite squadron of lowbloods with psiionics suited for highly specialised missions considered too dangerous for other castes. So basically, she's a meat shield with a fancy title.

But that hardly matters to her, as her psiionics are a particularly powerful kind of regenerative healing: So long as her head remains attached to her body and her heart is still beating, she can heal any wound. However, the scars will always remain, something she learnt after her hive was burnt down in an act of revenge when she was younger (as she was placed in a fixed match where she was supposed to let her highblooded opponent win, but she went No Fuck You and killed them anyway), which left half her face completely scarred and her losing sight in one eye. If anything, that made her even more determined to not just keeping surviving whatever life throws at her, but winning.

Within her squadron, she's known as a loose cannon who doesn't play well with others, but can be thrown at any challenge and will come out on top. She's a menace with an axe and an incredibly knowledgable toxicologist, and lives for the thrill of the fight. So much so that it's difficult to keep her out of battle for too long, and she gets antsy whenever she's not in a mission. Please fight her. She wants to kick your ass so bad.

Some fun facts:

Her callsign as part of the Cardinal Corps is 'Robin', but she's also known as 'Dead Girl Walking' due to the fact she's basically impossible to kill no matter what

The pain receptors in her nerves are dying as a result of her constant regenerations, but she doesn't care about that at all. If her limbs stop working, she'll just chop them off and wait for new functional ones to regrow.

During her Flarp days, she used to collect the weapons of her fallen opponents as trophies.

She is the third fantroll I ever made! And has only recently gone through a big rewrite, so her profiles on here + TH are extremely outdated lmao

Actually I realized I was gonna post my ideas for revamping Raesul and Skathi on here last night but then I just straight-up forgot so…… Girls

Raesul: one of the big things I struggled with for her was balancing her double identity thing so I think I’m gonna just. Scrap that lmao. Still works for Radio BRNR, but rather than them being a full rebel group I think they’ll just be rebel-aligned. Pirate radio station that operates outside of Empirical frequencies and seems like just a indie project on the surface, but those In The Know are aware that the songs they play are coded to assist rebels with like. Informing of legislacerator movements / signs of Fleet activity within the city. They radio station group still use code names, and disguise their voices using tech, but Rae isn’t out on the streets reporting anymore. She’s now the DJ, and still makes her own music while being in charge of the other songs that play on air.

Skathi: is Too Fuckin Old for Flarp now so I wanna make her Fleet, basically she achieved her dream of dominating the competition in official matches so hard she attracted the attention of recruiters and got enlisted in an elite squadron of lowblood psiionics (basically those who make useless Helmstrolls but their powers are too good to throw into the frontlines meat grinder) due to her regeneration powers. Tentative name is the Cardinal Corps and all the members use bird-themed code names. Skathi’s is Robin (based on how her last name is an anagram of Cermak, which means Robin in Czech, and also yknow. Redblood.), and while her first choice for a Fleet job was to be an Apotheculler, this new gig is also right up her alley. Big loose cannon who doesn’t play well with her squadmates, but god does she do her job of Killing Things Dead well
