Here goes your surprise (hope you like it! :D). More under the cut due to the length:
The sound of that clock on the wall was driving him crazy. He just wanted it to stop... No. He wanted it to explode at this point.Castiel had never realized before how terrible was to feeling anxious and desperate about something. But he couldn't help it, not anymore. He used to be happy, he used to know where his eternity was heading to and where to stay, what to do, how to think. But now... Now all that was gone. And was gone for one reason he wasn't able to forgive himself. He was in love.
Neither of those Winchesters were good for him, Uriel was right. However, this wasn't entirely their fault.Yes, he had to admit that his proximity to the brothers made him get in contact with emotions he didn't even realized were possible. Yes, he was aware of humans and their complicated and fascinating emotional system, but he had never been so close to them. He had never had the opportunity to live one of those so called human feelings before. Neither would've him considered that his mere proximity with the human world would've make that difficult to think with rational clarity. But the blame cannot be all washed onto the Winchesters. No.If his going to be honest, Sam and Dean only made him get interested in that mysterious human creatures. The one who was driving him crazy at the moment (besides that goddamn clock!) was a girl.
Females were particularly complex beings. Yeah, sure all the humans were emotional and sometimes acted for no comprehensible reason at all. But women... Well... They were lot harder to understand than men.Maybe it was because he had chosen a male vessel, maybe not. Whichever the reason was, the truth was that Castiel couldn't figure out clearly what the incredibly beautiful Gracie (oh, her name was made for angels!) wanted at the moment.
So there he was, looking at the stupid clock pinned to the wall, with its stupid hands ticking and ticking for (for his father's sake! Only?) ten minutes already. He agreed to went there alone. She promised he'd found her. But at the time the show started, she was nowhere to be found. He entered the room only because for some reason it seemed really impolite with the show crew to stay at the door with an already bought ticket on his hand, like he didn't appreciate the show they were offering. No, he had to go inside and sit for an entire hour and listen to that (he had to admit it, tho) beautiful pieces of music and dancing and singing. He had to admit that he had found that show pretty entertaining and picturesque. However, now when they were taking a recess (that was they said, although he didn't understand why would one need a recess from such a beautiful play. He could remain there forever, literally) he had started wondering again where was the lovely Grace. And he was more than anxious already. He was feeling abandoned and lonely, somehow betrayed... And that was eating him from the inside. When they announced the show was about to continue, he almost refuses to go in there again. However, he couldn't resist to listen more.
He felt glad that he decided to come in after all.he couldn't believe what was happening in front of her eyes. She had finally found her... And she was... Well... More than he couldn't handle. He was lucky for not having to talk at that moment, because he wouldn't have been able to.She was standing there, in the middle of the stage, her soft hair carefully pulled into a little and delicate bun, wearing a long, sleeveless, purple dress and giving her best smile (that he knew was meant for him). And then, she sang. And with her voice, all the emotions that were trapped inside his chest jumped so hard that was almost painful... In an amazing way, somehow. Nothing mattered at the moment. The waiting, the stupid clock, the doubt, the fear, the empty chair at his side... He was not alone anymore.
