I always used to find the Mines of Moria scenes in the Lord of The Rings movie relatively boring but I rewatched it recently and it’s strength is really in the environmental story telling, which is amazing. The dwarven skeletons all have very clear roles from life. When the party picks up the book, the skeleton is categorically a record keeper. Huge book perched outwardly, its long greyed hair combining with cobwebs to create a spooky veil, a voluminous robe. Very different from the soldier skeletons with their distinctive helmets (like Gimli’s), bodies propped up by their armor as if still on watch.
