Okayokay so while I think Shigadabi’s still technically a bnha rarepair, it just passed 2,000 fics (2,013 as of 4:28 pm, 2/16/21) with new ones everyday, sooo I don’t personally consider it one anymore (which is fucking amazingkajflad🤩)! Because of that I’mma skip em this time for the pairs that only have hundreds instead! ...ahem Dabi/Tenko and Touten are my favorite sub-rarepairs in their little mix though... 🙈
Here are the ones that have their own folder in my writing Docs! Figured they’d be the easiest to focus on since I’ve thought about them on my own the most! 🥰 I don’t really have any set HCs (they change with each fic) so I’mma just ramble about them/my AUs and maybe a couple headcanon-related things will fall out haha.
Hawkshig: Eeeee okayokayokay SO I have... this Spirited Away AU... with Hawks as Haku and Compress as No Face and I justadfklajdfka I LOVE THIS SHIP SO MUCH. All the conflicted morals on both sides, the spying, pining from afar because Dabi won’t let him close- it’s just *chef’s kiss* Gorgous m’dudes. Ohohohold on, I do have a set headcanon for them, actually, and it’s that Hawks tosses him from rooftop to rooftop for funsies. 🥰 Tomura gets to feel alive and genuinely laugh while Hawks soaks up a side of his target no one else really sees. Que more pining, guilt, and existential Hero-dread. 👌😏 Ah, but both of them thinking they’ve got the other trusting and feeling guilty about it because all the times he let Hawks into his room (through the damn window to bypass Dabi) mean something now...! ACK I’m feeling, NEXT--
Compresshig: Not the best ‘next’ for an unfeeling ship lol but I mean come on. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: anyone that’ll sacrifice themselves for Tomura deserves that ass. It’s only fair. 😂 I imagine Tomura just being so fucking confused and suspicious at first that the magician’s actually a villain. That he had to warm up to Sako’s unique bravado, like a cat slowly inching closer, and Kurogiri helped that process by befriending the man. At first, Tomura would just glare at him from across the bar, but, after many a tea-time with Kurogiri, Tomura finally sat and joined them. 🥰 Yeah, that sounds nice. I think he’d teach Tomura a lot emotionally, support the shit out of him, and bug him for anything he wants haha. Oh, gawd, can you imagine him decorating their house? 😭 Or planning their wedding??

Chishig: Idunno, I bet Chisaki likes givin Tomura a bath. 🥺 He wouldn’t say it (unless he’s losing shot-Shoji and tipsy-- bet you could totally make a drinking game out of it so they did). He’d just gruffly demand it because “if you want something done right” and all. There is a grain of truth in there, however, since Tomura can’t always care about his hygiene. He’d be a nag about it, too, I can hear it! 😂 Ahh I love them a lot. I have a Chitenko fic I’ve been sitting on that makes me really 🥺 to think about-- they’re an enemies-to-lovers couple that has my heart haha.
Skeptshig: Now-- just hear me out: I have a very specific Doll/Puppet AU, with Skeptic as “the Maker” and Tomura as his favorite. Swirly eyed, manipulative dude he is... Perfect fit. 😎 The guy’s a puppet master, how could I not write for that?! Impossible! The rest of the League’s there, too, and honestly it’s more of a Tomura/Everyone, but... Main ship Skeptshig bc I want Tomura to escape, and Skeptic to rage that his favorite toy ran away and freed the others. 😏 He seems like the type hahaha. I just imagine a permanent deadpan on Tomura’s face and Skeptic ranting and ranting. It makes me giggle. He kinda reminds me of Karen Uzumaki in that way, tbh 👀 Not much else to say about em, I just love that dramatic bitch, their imagined dynamic, and AU 😭

It takes place in, basically, the MLA’s mansion, just more Haunted-Victorian-Mansion. Every night is once upon a midnight dreary, y’know? Shigaraki’s certainly weary of this shit 😂 Gothic horror is a big inspo for the environment and tone, both aesthetically and thematically! Channeling my Edgar Allan Poe baybeeee 👏
notes from the Doc:
A very haunted, Victorian mansion, where the Doll Maker lives with and keeps his things. Some are special enough to have their own rooms; Shigaraki Tomura is not one of them. The Maker hangs him up on his own walls for decoration and entertainment.
Most call him Master (per his request), but Tomura calls him the Maker. Those that’ve been there the longest have adopted his sentiment. Eventually, their minds believe it.
Herein lies the core of it all!
Their reality has always been the Mansion; their reality has always been controlled by Skeptic. The circumstances surrounding how or why they’re there (other than for Skeptic & CO’s entertainment) are unknown. He doesn’t know how long he’s been there, but he’s been there the longest and the others look to him as some de-facto leader for it. Told from Tomura’s point of view, we’re introduced to the unofficial house hierarchy: he’s the only one that’s kept like this, and it fucking sucks. I have the whole flowchart he’s mapped out for the average Doll’s living-situation over time but I’mma keep it to be detailed in the fic if it’s ever posted cause that’s just worldbuilding detail.
the League
Their interactions are something I’m really excited about~ We’ll get to see how he met each of them throughout the Mansion, their day-to-days milling about and pondering (or blindly accepting) reality.
I can imagine Dabi’s room, full of burnt taxidermy, walls and furniture permanently stained with soot, and Tomura checking up on him when he doesn’t show up in their Biltmore-esque library, like usual, after a “playdate” with Geten.
Spinner would be a Doll Shigaraki finds molding alone in a room, forgotten. Not anymore goddamnit. He’d understand that solitude, what with the isolation he feels by being kept by Skeptic’s side so often, and long-dormant sympathy&empathy would reintroduce itself!
Toga and Twice would be the “newest” and most chipper, following Tomura around like lost puppies whenever he’s out and about.
(Dabi and Spinner do, too, just a little more mutedly).
Not 100% on Compress and Magne but they’re theeeeere haha.
They’re the heart he’s lost over time. They bring him back to life in a place that wants nothing but to stifle and control him as they support each other. Idk how, but the goal is escape for Shigaraki and the League in the end, with them on a road to further healing together. 🥰
in conclusion
It’s all very much a ~what’s reality~ mindfuck because I love that shit and want the question to be if they’re really Dolls of Skeptic’s creation or just tortured people being used. Breaking out of a created reality is what I want for them and they will get it, if only in my mind and unpublished word vomit lol. I started it for Shigtober, my silly little combo of Kinktober and a Shigabowl, so maybe it’ll make its debut in October 😂😂 ... I hoard my writing, it’s a problem... 😭
The Doll concept is tightly intertwined with the whole Puppet Master/Puppet dynamic, also, and kinda branches off into other circusy vibes/possible plot directions I don’t think match the more Gothic tone this has grown to be. Idk tho, I ruminate on it off and on and it’s no where near fleshed out enough soakdjglkajakdjf 🙈
