10/06/21 - Ski Apache, NM - MENTAL TRAINING DAY - It’s time to start getting focused on my cycling training in preparation for the four racing events I will be competing in at the National Senior Games in Fort Lauderdale next May. Thought it would be good idea to kick it all off with a signature ride up to the Ski Apache ski resort at 9,600 feet. There were two very different mental training opportunities today: the first being the long hard slog up the mountain and the second being the thrill and sheer enjoyment of a long fast technical descent that will serve to remind me why I love the sport of cycling so much. Glad I did it. The beautiful weather and scenic views were a nice bonus.
