Intro post
Hi, my name is Sandra and I live in London with my husband. I am a law graduate. I am originally from Singapore.
I started skincarediaries because I am obsessed with beauty products, it is my one extravagance. I am the kind of girl who would not balk at shopping at charity shops, wearing the same clarks ankle boots daily or cutting her own fringe, but would have you pry her toiletries bag from her cold dead hands. My corpse would probably have liquid eyeliner drawn on, and every single Ryanair flight has me waking up in the dead of the night, pottering around my bathroom while desperately trying to decant my entire beauty routine into two ziploc bags (my husband’s liquids travel allowance is unceremoniously sacrificed). Needless to say,we always have to buy shower gel, conditioner and shampoo at our destination to make space for the serums, oils, creams and eyeliners.
However, I am quite atypical compared to other beauty aficionados out there, in the sense that I have zero interest in ‘strobing’, sticking on false eyelashes or contouring my nose to look like Kim Kardashian. My own beauty routine is pretty minimal when it cones to makeup but my skincare routine is reminiscent of korean multi step routines (my current skincare routine has nine steps; I double cleanse, mask, exfoliate with a 10% peel 3X a week, moisturize with a hyaluronic acid serum, facial oil, Avene Xeracalm cream & night cream and wear SPF). In short, I am pretty high maintenance when it comes to skincare, but my makeup consists of bb cream, a stroke of liquid eyeliner on my lashline, a wash of sheer champagne eyeshadow and a swipe of tinted lip balm Occasionally I might add a dusting of Lush powdered sunshine. I would never leave the house without bb cream and eyeliner as my armour, but I am similarly stubborn when it comes to incorporating other makeup products in my routine. Hence, the reason for my blog name as I don’t wish to bore anyone with 4 product makeup tutorials.
I hope that you would all enjoy my upcoming blogposts. Stay tuned! I am quite egalitarian when it comes to beauty products, I love a good bargain and I would never exclude any product on the basis of price considerations. This would not be a blog which solely features high end beauty products that cost the equivalent of a good coat or a British rail ticket purchased on the eve of departure with 1 token drugstore beauty product thrown in for appearances’ sake. If you love korean beauty, the ordinary skincare products, bravura london acid peels, Lush face masks, love a good facial oil or are a fan of the double cleansing method, I am sure we would get along! Ditto for my fellow eyeliner addicts, there is a reason for the five seven tubes of L’oreal Waterproof Super Liner in black lacquer rattling about in my make up bag.:-)
