(2) Sephora All Day Hydrator w/ Hyaloronic Acid

Product description - natural hyaluronic acid from wheat, known to hydrate skin. Cocktail of natural vitamin E from sunflower and vitamin C. Known to protect skin from external aggressions and bring glow. Improved hydration within 8hrs. Improved radiance after 28 days of use.

So far very moisturizing and hydrating, used after the MB aloe vera toner.

(3) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% & Hyaloronic Acid

Product description - visibily targets uneven tone, textural irregularities, fine lines. May increase skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Fragrence-free.

This serum is very potent. I used about 2 drops after cleansing and using the hada labo skin plumping gel and my face felt really irritated, however, this passed after about 3 minutes. Next time I use this I’ll apply it during my nighttime routine using only 1 drop.

Step-by-Step Skin Prep for Dry Skin

Makeup is dry skin’s worst enemy. It can be very tricky to apply makeup on dry skin. Even if you’re using the right foundation and wetting your beauty blender, skipping proper skin prep can make your makeup look patchy and uneven. To get a flawless, long-lasting makeup finish, never forget your skin prep. It not only brings glow to your makeup but also nourishes your skin. Preparing your skin properly provides much-needed hydration and allows makeup to sit more smoothly.  

Let me walk you through a step-by-step guide on how to achieve a smooth base that will allow your makeup to glide on effortlessly. It may take 15 extra minutes, but it is all worth it.

Cleanse your Skin: For dry skin, I recommend using a cream-based cleanser. It helps moisturize your skin while cleaning it. Be gentle while cleaning and don’t rush. Avoid using hot water, as it can dry out your skin even more.

Applying toner: Many people skip this step. But it is very important for people with dry skin. Using a hydrating toner helps balance the skin’s pH level. Look for toners that have hydrating ingredients like rosewater.

Choosing the right moisturizer: If you moisturize your skin daily but are not using the product that suits your skin, it is all going to waste. Try using a thick, cream-based moisturizer and watch the magic happen.

Applying serum: Apply only at extremely dry spots such as the forehead or chin. Serum can prove to be your dry skin’s best friend. Just give it a try.

Use a lip balm: Apply a nourishing lip balm at the beginning of your makeup routine, so that by the time you apply your lip products, your lips stay hydrated and smooth.

Now, wait. STOP. The biggest mistake people make is going straight into the next steps. Your skin needs time to breathe. Instead, drink your coffee, scroll through reels, but do not put anymore products on your face for at least 5 minutes. Let all the products settle into your skin before moving on.
