I went to @marthastewart #madeinamerica at her omnimedia studios a few years back. It was amazing- the talented attendees and speakers. So many ‘ah-haaa’ moments. But one concept kept popping up- authenticity. Huh, really? People create authenticity? It really stuck with me- if you’ve ever been to my studio, it’s an authentic immersive experience!! Full of my career, my family, my loves, my obsessions, my whimsy, and my touch. It’s ever evolving, depending on the muse swirling about in my head! This photo of my grandparents on their wedding day has been Somewhere in the studio since I opened. She didn’t wear white- she travelled from Arkansas to New York to be with him. They met when he was working with the Army corp of engineers building the roads through the Ozarks. He was driving a Stutz Bearcat, wearing jodhpurs. She was a tall strawberry blonde. Look at that tag from her dresss, isn’t that so cool? How apropos that I should wind up with it… Pretty cool, I come by this work honestly and authentically! #itsinthegenes #familylegacy #skipageneration #knowyourroots https://www.instagram.com/p/CgPaHXeO2oN/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
