It worked.

The whole plan, Makoto's sister Sae and whether she'd believe everything he told her about, the switcheroo with Akechi -- all of it. He'd known it the second he'd felt that very familiar feeling of the Metaverse activating and he'd waited to make sure.

Quite honestly, it was a huge relief that all of their setup with the interrogation room and Sae's Palace actually went through, and while Akira was still somewhat out of it, that much had registered fully.

He didn't know how much longer it was before the door opened and Sae came in to help him to his feet and get him outside and to a car--

A car which, he was actually happy to note, he was able to slide in next to a very familiar faux blonde, immediately brightening on seeing him. "'Yujiiii~," he cooed, practically flopping himself on his partner in crime. "It worked. It worked!"

Eyes widened in shock, his heart skipped a beat at that sudden nickname. He wasn't sure how to react at first. He opened his mouth to speak only to be met with a kiss that set his heart on fire. He blinked and the warmth of his lips was still present. This was... everything he ever wanted.

When Ryuji looked away, he took hold of his chin, gently, and returned the kiss in the same needy way. "Don't apologize... I've wanted this too. I... I like you, Ryuji..." He spoke while flustered as all hell.

"P-Princess?" a small squeak, Haru hadn't expected Ryuji-kun to get that invested in her off-handed comment. A glance to the tokens fed into the machine, then her gaze flicked to the screen.

Zombie Hoard VI wasn't joking in terms of the wrapping on the machine, there were a TON of slobbering, bleeding and bursting hoards of undead.

More accustomed to being a one and done shot with her bazookas, Haru found her trigger finger was cramping with each series of pulls.

"No no, not the face!" the brunette exclaimed, turning to tilt her gun to fire off at the zombie attempting to get at her avatar's 'face'. The split screen nearly gave her double vision. Soon enough, the first round ended.

"There's more? How many rounds are there??" she asked, keeping one eye on her screen and attempting to turn to look to Ryuji.

What he'd give to briskly turn around, walk back up the stairs despite the incoming flow of morning foot traffic potentially crushing him, dip under the lined shop canopies in hopes of staying completely dry from the deluge of rain, and rightfully return underneath the safety of his make-shift bed. Morgana's ingenious alarm system, while considered fullproof and effective in the mind of his beloved 'not-a-cat' cat, provided very little preparation time for his departure on account of the gloomy, overcast skies. It's as if the day itself begged Akira to stay home, as well as refusing any call of action or invitation into the chilly, autumn atmosphere.

He'd take care of the shop, no problem! Perhaps brainstorm new drink concotions and warm beverages for the oncoming colder season. That should draw in more customers, and most importantly, more revenue.

Yet he made no attempt to act on those impulsive thoughts as the screeching sound of subway wheels halted in front of their platform. Everyone filed in through the open doors, quickly rushed to take any leftover empty seats, and be on their way for another boring workday. He sighed to himself once they situated themselves in the back corner of the car. "I'm with you there...better to stay inside on days like these..." The blatant yawn confirmed his regards even further. "Don't we have some quiz today too? Ms. Chouno mentioned something about that the other day...didn't she?"

Normally when Akira couldn't sleep -- nightmares or insomnia -- he usually made infiltration tools until he got tired or read a book. Tonight neither of those were working and the nightmare, which was the reason he couldn't sleep, was still lingering in his mind.

Mainly because it had been about Ryuji...

He was glad when the blonde picked up, but hearing his voice so groggy meant that yes, he had woken him up. Right now, though, he was just glad to hear his voice.

For a moment, he debated on whether or not to tell him the truth, that it was a nightmare or if it was just insomnia. No... no sense in lying to him right now. "...Nightmare," came the quiet reply. "My normal methods for not being able to sleep weren't working."

I wanted to hear your voice because it's reassuring.

Of all the places to pass out--- the KITCHEN? 'Tis not even that the location is odd... rather, the ( quite literally ) STARVING artist was more worried about his pile of self indulgent snacks having been snatched whilst he'd been incapacitated. " Your concern is... a KINDNESS I am not used to. Thank you, Ryuji, " the soft spoken creative utters, mildly distracted as he shuffles around for the aforementioned snacks. " To be able to accommodate for my STATURE ... I must say, your efforts are commendable! As LOVELY as it would be, though, to be ushered to my room everyday in such a fashion, I wouldn't want to BURDEN you... "

Ryuji's sarcasm flies STRAIGHT past Yusuke, but in his honest defense, his attention is elsewhere. " ... say, while you are here, you... wouldn't happen to have seen my SNACKS, yes? "

Points to a menu item, "Super Special Spicy Tongue Torch Sauce. Limited Time" there's a sparkle in her hazel eyes that is typically only there when she's talking about vegetables and gardening in general.

"I think...I want to try this" will she regret it? Most likely. The spice might actually wake up her taste buds, make food actually taste like something again.

Instead, she frames it as an adventure.

"Want to try it too? I don't mind sharing."
