Do you like scad a lot? I'm applying for fall 2015, any advice? I'm hoping to get scholarships etc

Hi!

Yes, I really like SCAD! I kind of slipped in on a banana peel, because I started looking at US colleges really late and basically SCAD was the only decent one left that was still accepting applications. I went in thinking I’d stay maybe a year or so and then move on to something better, but the school and the city really grew on me, and now I’m heading back for my third year. It has some issues, like any school tbh, but something I think is great is how easily you can tailor your education. If you’re on top of things and do your research, you can make sure you get the best possible professors every time. And there are some really, really good professors there, who take a genuine interest in your development, if you show them that you’re driven and want to learn more. 

As for scholarships, make sure to have a well-rounded portfolio, it doesn’t have to be only work pertaining to your planned major. And make it look as professional as you can. They’re fairly generous with their scholarships. My portfolio was kind of half-assed, since I was in a rush, but I still got a pretty decent scholarship. But that’s also because my academic grades were really good. They do a 50/50 thing with the scholarship, so if you have flawless grades and such that can afford you up to half of the full tuition, and your portfolio counts for the other half. So don’t slack off on your academics! Also be aware that you can negotiate your scholarship with them before you enroll, something I missed out on. 

I’m guessing you’re interested in majoring in photography? My roommate kfriedmanphotos does photography and I’m sure she could tell you more about that department in particular.

Thanks so much you guys. I'll have my twin sister there so it probably won't be as painstaking as it could be. But it's still incredibly nerve-wracking. (That is, I'll have her until she finds 50 friends on the second day and ditches me.)

Oh the pain of the first day in a new town in a new school . . . I have faced it three times. I feel for you friend. It will all be over in 24 hours.

Wow, three times. Here I am complaining about my first. I'm sorry you had to go through that process. Hopefully I can be as strong as you must've been. (Yes, it'll be over in 24 hours...and then I'll have to do it all over again the next day!! Yippie!)

I killed ABSOLUTELY NOBODY. This was actually about my 10th choice of url because this was the only one that wasn't taken. One of my first choices was sculllys but I've actually grown to like this one more. It's simpler. 

And if I was going to kill someone for a URL it would definitely be the scully one that hasn't been used in SIX YEARS JFC.

It has potential. I find the characters a bit dull and the plot needs some work, but it's only 5 episodes in so I'm sure it'll pick up.
